Just tried to add it to my queue.
Sorry This offer is not valid in your region, or it has expired. |

Well, regardless, I just snagged this gaem for $5. Stinks that the other content was pulled due to rights or to get you to purchase GOLD but what can I complain about for $5. Well, maybe that I can't smash things with the Hulk. Seriously, how do you make a Marvel game where you can play as 20 characters and The Hulk ISN'T one of them? :p |
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I think the problem was Hulk was contracted out to another video game company when the game was being made.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
FYI, the DLC for both games is back up for purchase on the Xbox Marketplace. Hurry if you want it, because it'll probably be gone after the end of the year.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
An Activision exec posted about it on his blog a week or so ago:
"Remember earlier this year — the giant kerfuffle about the very short availability window for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2‘s DLC? It was something of a personal nightmare for me, a problem I inherited when I was just a few days into my new job. Lots of angry gamers took it out on me, but I was trying to figure out what the heck had happened in the first place. It took a while to sort out, but due to the gamer outcry, Activision and Marvel went back to the drawing board, created a new agreement, and brought that DLC back. However, when it returned, it also came with a fresh expiration date — and I figured now would be a good time to remind you that the date is coming up fast. Until December 31, 2010, you can still download the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Character & Sim Mission Pack with its five extra characters, and you can finally earn all the Achievements/trophies that go with it. It’s $9.99 for PS3 players and 800 Microsoft Points for 360 owners. Additionally, Juggernaut is available as a separate downloadable character — he’s apparently too big to fit in the digital download wrapper with all the other guys — for $1.99 or 160 MS Points. Buy it again for the first time on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. After December 31, it’s gone for good. For my sake if not for your own, do not delay, dammit. So…what if you don’t want to buy the DLC, but want to play with gamers who did? That’s an easy, free fix: Download the “Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 Character Compatibilty Pack“ on PlayStation 3 and the “Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 Character & Sim Mission Pack Teaser” on Xbox 360. I do not know why they go by different names if they do the same thing, but regardless, this is the download you need to make sure every MUA2 player can play with every other, whether they own the DLC or not. Excelsior!" Did not know that the DLC for the first game was back up, too. I guess the next couple of weeks will determine how much of an achievement whore I really am. . . |

Give in to the darkside MWB!

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Personally, I'd rather have the DLC for the original game.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Well, that solves which game I immerse myself in next. I loved the first M:UA, but was waiting for used copies of M:UA2 to become really cheap before I bought it. Thanks to this thread, I checked Amazon on a whim and they have it new for about $16, which is much cheaper than what used copies are going for at Gamestop. Just placed my order. The low price makes buying the DLC a little more justifiable.
Just out of curiosity, say I get a new Xbox and don't have access to a data transfer cable and have to redownload all of my DLC*. Will expired DLC like this also be available to redownload? *With all of the "Rock Band" songs I have, let's hope it never comes to that. |

I'm still torn, man. On one hand, there's so many better things to spend ten bucks on than DLC for a game I didn't really enjoy all that much to begin with. On the other hand, this is 250 Gamerscore that I'll never get the chance to earn, ever again. What to do, what to do. . .

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Is this just for MUA 2? will the dlc of the first still be available?
|
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I assume the DLC for the first game will go away too. It was gone for a while too.
|
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
The DLC from MUA 2 is gone from the PSN store.
|
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Wtf! I was gonna download it off psn later today. They said it would be gone saturday. This is bullshit!
|
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Is it gone for 360 too? It better not be or I will complain. I agree, this is bullshit.
|
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Has DLC for any other game been pulled?
|
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Sucks if its gone early, but why did you guys wait until the last minute when you knew weeks ago? Or months ago?
|
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I was waiting for a possible sale.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Figure I would bump this because it is still available on the 360. Just verified and downloaded. I'm not sure why PSN pulled it early. Maybe they misread their information.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Should I get Juggernaut? I have everything else already.

So fuck you Sony! |
Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I'm digging the game a lot, but most of the alternate costumes are pretty lame. I haven't read many of the comics since the '90s, so I'm pretty unfamiliar with them. I like the way the alternate costumes were handled in the last game, with each character getting four. That way there was a nice mix of classic and contemporary costumes. But, really, it's a minor gripe.

I wish he was part of the DLC pack of characters, though. For those four, the only one I ever really use is Magneto (another favorite of mine). |
