Xbox 360 Controller Question?

I getting a xbox 360 soon and I'm wondering if I can hook up 4 wire controllers in the 360? From the pictures I've seen there are only 2 ports in the xbox.

I know there are wireless controllers but I don't like them.

Just out of curiosity, how come you don't like wireless controllers. They function the exact same, only without the wire.

They are not 100% accurate. I try them with first xbox and wireless controllers have a delay in response.

That's because there was no official first-party wireless controller for the Xbox. Third-party controllers are always crappier than first-party controllers.

The 360 wireless controller is officially made by Microsoft; it is not some crappy third-party controller. I have used it for over half a year with no problems at all. It is just as accurate as a wired controller.

No lag on the 1st party wireless

Up to three wired controllers may be connected to any Xbox 360 console.

That said, I'm assuming you would use the 2 USB ports on the front and then the one on the back that is generally used for the wireless adapter, should you decide to connect 3 wired controllers.

Thank you for all the info. I'm buying an xbox 360 sunday and I'm going to give the wireless a try and judge for myself.

You are going to pick up a premium aren't you? If so you will get a wireless controller with it...

Don't worry about the 360 wireless controllers, they work perfectly no matter how intense the action is. I actually purchased a third wired one to go with my two wireless ones when I got the 360, since I was worried about battery life and lag. I don't think I've used it since I got it. Actually, I don't even know where the hell it is anymore.

Yes, make sure you pick up a premium 360 - try out the wireless controller that comes with it and enjoy. They are absolutely perfect on the 360 - no delay in response at all.

Are you sure you bought the $300 core that comes in a green box, not the $400 premium that comes in a white box? The core is supposed to come with a wired controller.

I'm getting the premium 360 for sure at Best Buy. It seems to be the best deal for next week.

I got the Xbox 360 and the wireless controller is excellent. I haven't notice any slag at all.

I played gears of war and I turn the aim left and right as fast as I could to notice any slag and there wasn't any at all.

Has anyone had any problems connecting two or more wireless controllers? I tried connecting a 2nd wireless controller but is not connecting and all it does is flash around the X and is not selecting a port.

There should be a synchronization button on the controller and the 360. You push both of them and they send out signals to sync up and assign the controller as controller 1,2,3, or 4.

If you use a usb hub, you can hook up to 4 wired controllers without even using the front usb ports.

The button you are refering to is the one with 3 symbols "lll" next to the memory card port?

I got the wireless controllers to work.

Here is what I did if anyone is wondering:

1. turn the console on
2. press the button next the memory card port with such symbols lll
3. press the big X on the controller until it turn on
4. press the small button on the controller with symbols lll

This might seem like a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. I'll have my 360 in my theater room with the console behind me (about 3 feet or so). Will this cause any problems with the wireless controllers (the MS ones)?

Be gentle, I'm a 360 newb.

They are 2.4ghz so you will not have any problems for about 30' away from the system, not matter the direction.
