Purchasing an Original XBOX

I have over 150 games for the system, and wanted to purchase another before they are completely impossible to find.

Does anyone know of any reputable online stores that arent major [amazon, bby, cc, frys, etc.] that have the system in stock?

eBay is a total last resort. thanks!

I wanted one to build into an Xbox Media Center and had zero luck finding a new one. I ended up finding a 1 year old one used at EB and went with that. Since I was replacing the HDD anyway getting a brand new one wasn't a must.

Ebay may be the only place you can find one new.

I just looked over all the sites in my favorites and none of them had any. I think your best bet is ebay.

I checked and you can find some new ones from Amazon sellers, but they are very expensive. The Xbox has a lot of value still because of the Linux mod ability. I would honestly get one used. Shop around. A lot of people traded their systems in for 360s so hopefully you can find a system that was manufactured in 2005.

I have a slightly used Xbox and Gamecube with the gameboy player I would be interested in selling or trading if either of you decide to go the used route.

Some of the webshops discussed on xbox-scene's webshop ratings/opinions forum are still selling premodded xboxes. If you go that route (it's a grey-black market) then I recommend reading the store reviews very carefully, not only on the forum but also on sites such as resellerratings.

EB is charging $179 for new Xboxes here.

Saw it the other day and couldn't help but roll my eyes (They were $149 last december ). I'm almost tempted to purchase one myself, as mine has been acting up lately.

If you can find the core system it's still $150, but the only ones still available is the Forza bundle which is $180. The Forza bundle isn't really worth it IMO because Forza is $20 bringing the price to $170 if you bought it separately. I'm surprised the bundle hasn't dropped down in price. Also, keep in mind, I heard the Forza bundle comes with the original huge controller.

Dude I swear I've seen them around here in stores VERY recently. I'll look around tomorrow and I'll let you know if I can find one since I'll already be out anyhow. If so I won't charge you anything but paypal fees, I can ship for free.

I've got one that I would like to sell. It has the better drive (reads cdr's) and hasn't had much use. It comes with a smaller controller. Looking for $110 shipped.

I decided to buy a second one so my son can have his own Xbox Media Center and managed to grab a Halo one with 6 games and 3 controllers for $157 on Ebay. I've given up trying to find them new. Almost any parts needed to fix an Xbox are available online including the Samsung DVD drives so I'm really not worried about buying them used. I picked up the 250GB HDD on sale at Best Buy to drop in it when I get it in the mail.
