In fact, people that didn't come until 5 minutes before the store opened at 8 were able to get a card.

Since my roomate got one, he hooked it up to our TV. I haven't decided what to do with the one i picked up yet.
Sell it to me or some other unfortunate soul.

We had planned to get to one of the stores at about 7am this morning, but woke up at about 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. So, we took our time getting ready and headed out and were the first ones in line at Target. At about 7:40 a store employee (who was standing in line with us) called & asked someone to come out and give us vouchers so we could get back in our cars...they didn't have any so they just wrote numbers on a receipt and signed it. We were all in and out in about 5 minutes once they opened the doors. When we got back to electronics the employees already had one rung up on each of two registers.

I'm really surprised that they had so few. Only 6 at all the area Targets (people who got turned away at other local Targets tried the store we were at and told us they had only had 6 as well).

We've been picking up the other controllers as we have found them....so now all we need to complete our set is a nunchuck that has been impossible to find.

It sure is fun. DH is right in front of me acting looking like he is actually boxing (one of the party games on super monkey ball).

Well I was unable to go out this morning. I was planning on heading toward a 24 hr Walmart on Wed since I heard they were going to sell some but from the ad it says minimum 3 per store. I wonder what my chances are getting one their ?

Anybody have any inside info which store is going to sell some next ?

How many Wiis have been sold so far in the US? It seems like this is the "tickle me elmo" of the 2006 Christmas season.

The rumor is that Best Buy will have them advertised on the 17th.

That's what my supervisor said his 'corporate source' has told him.

I woke up around 5:30 and drove straight to the Target that's 2 minutes from my house. No one was waiting. Went back at 7:30 and there were about 15 people in line. As soon as I got there, the store manager came outside and said they had 32 Wiis. I was number 17. Picked up a Wii, an extra remote and nunchuck, a classic controller, Zelda, Need for Speed Carbon and RedSteel. Total - just over $500. Still cheaper than a PS3.

Finally scored a Wii!

Woke up at 6am and headed to my local Target (City of Industry, CA). There were about 35 people in line when I arrived. Since I didn't know how many units Target was going to have (they ended up having 57), I decided to head on over to Circuit City.

There was only one pretty young asian woman in line. She told me she waited over night in her car! CC ended up having about 35 systems with about 50 people in line. The manager came out about 8am to pass out tickets and then they let us in half hour early (9:30am) to buy our systems.

Now I'm happy!

not sure where everyone is getting the 'minimum 15 per store' information, probably from speedy's posts, but my circuit city circular only had 'limited quantities available'. nothing about a minimum per store.

don't give up though, you will get one and be amazed :]

His ads originate in the Northeast, so it's possible there could be a regional difference. Mine had the 15 per store notice.

I believe the current rumors are for Walmart to be releasing it's stock on December 6th. The 24 hours stores will release them at 12:01am and the rest at opening on the 6th. I think those are fairly substantiated, but I think it's time to get people confirming that so everyone can be ready for Wednesday's next round.

It may be a rumor nationwide but for my nearest Wal-Mart, it's fact. The department manager confirmed it from her vendors. This Wal-Mart is 24-hours but will not sell it until 8 AM that morning, iirc.

Wow. If those numbers are accurate, I'm not sure what I'm more surprised by, the 360 or Wii totals. That is a huge number for the Wii in such a short time, I never would have guessed that. Also it looks like the 360 is going to come close to the 10 million mark this year, with a month left before the holidays. That PS3 number sounds about right, maybe a little bit higher than I expected given the pre-release chaos.

And look at the PS3 fall behind. If only Sony would've had their act together and produced more, they would be much higher. I'm still baffled when companies do not produce enough units for sale (although, maybe that is on them, since they lose money on each console)

I WOULD buy one (with GameRush credit), but since they are not available, I may just wait until they are readily available...which will be when?

I think the problem w/ Sony manufacturing is that either the failure rate for the Blu-Ray drives is very high, or they can't make them fast enough. Something like that.

Just curious, has Sony shipped any more PS3's recently, if so..how many? Cannot be more than 100,000, right?

Do you see them being available in a wider release in March? sooner? later?

March is around the time I will seriously start looking for one. But with the shortages they've had, I'm not sure I'll find one at that time. Wasn't it around March/April of this year when the 360s were finally readily available?

March/April were the rumored dates, it was really more like July. Considering the PS3 launches in Europe in March, I wouldn't expect surplus until at least August.

I'm starting to get more upset about this process than I thought I would. I was patient, I'm not going to campout overnight for a PS3, but I'm checking pretty often. I stop by EB every day at lunch, when they get their shipments, and no dice. If I can't get one by the holidays, I'm probably going to give up on this for quite a while. Screw BD, I was just about to buy 10+ movies just to stock up for when I get one, but at this rate it could be forever. I'm really enjoying my 360, HD-DVD is spectacular, and I can live with SD-DVD for BD movies if it's going to be this kind of mess. The only game I have even mild interest in is Resistance, and that's fading with every time I play GoW.
