Where can I find my Wii code?

From the main screen, go to the message board (lower right "envelope" button). Then Address Book. From there it either says your code or there's an option to show it. More hidden than it should be.

to play online. Currently no game has online functions. Kind of like a friends list like on the 360.

No doubt, but it's gotta be better than the DS. At least it is a step in the right direction and only a one-time annoyance.

I've added both you guys, I'm curious to see if it does anything now. I guess we can send each other messages and Miis?

Also, your Miis can travel to other consoles so people on your friends list will have their Miis in your plaza.

Make sure your Mii has the "mingle" feature turned on.

Stupid question, but, how do you set your Mii to Mingle?

I can find my connection... but can never get passed the "Testing connection..." process without an error code.

Edit the Mii and on the first screen (where you set the name, etc) set it to Mingle. You may have to go into the Mii Plaza and turn "Travel" on. That might be under the "Mii Parade" option.

Have you tried changing the router's channel as suggested in the Wii thread? Something about channels 6-9 interfering with the bluetooth.
