I plopped down $10 over the Wii for Mario64 last night (I never owned it or played it). I had seen it before, it looks kinda crappy compared to what I remember, but nonetheless, it's a lot of fun so far. I need more time to play it.
The wavebirds work great for it though.

Lucked out today. Was able to get an extra Wii-mote, nanchucks, and classic controller at a nearby Wal-Mart after heading to five different stores.
Next up, I gotta decide whats the first game I want to buy.

Lucky would be finding them at your first stop. You were just persistent.

my wife, who isn't really into the newer videogame systems(she prefers the easier old school stuff), played the Wii Sports bowling for around 2hrs. last night. she was having a blast. now I just need to find an extra controller so we can both play.

Finally played it last night...late last night. Going to pay for it at work today. Connecting to the internet was very easy. Everything went well except for getting roughly a few hours of sleep.

Most of the Xbox Live retro games don't make it too long on my system. I try 'em and quickly delete 'em. I don't know why I can't get into these older games. I'm 35 so I've played a lot of them in the past, but they just don't seem to hold my interest. Having said that, I feel like I gotta be missing out on something here.

Mario 64 is considered one of the best games of all time. It personally couldn't hold my interest. I'd rather play a pretty well-made 2D game than an ugly OK-made 3D game. IMHO of course.
Playing some of th VC games with a Wiimote is absolutely atrocious. Those 1 and 2 buttons are tiny.

I went to Target yesterday and picked up another controller and nunchuck. they had a ton of them. I also upgraded my old apple wireless basestation to a Linksys WRT54G v6. I got my home network running fine with it but still have not been able to get the Wii to pass the connection test. I think now i have put more time into trying to get the Wii onto the internet than i have spent time playing games on it.

I had my Wii connected online in a matter of just a few minutes. because it went so smoothly I'm fearing a major nightmare with the PS3 when it arrives.
I'm using a Linksys WRT54GS.

I hope that Mario Party 8 will have some sort of online play.

Fils-Aime Talks Wii Plans, Online Specifics
In a new interview with MTV News, Nintendo of America's president Reggie Fils-Aime has been discussing the top launch titles, plans for Wii launch, and the longer-term software line-up for Nintendo's console.
Following the company's recent announcement that 600,000 Wii consoles and 454,000 copies of Zelda: Twilight Princess were sold in the first 8 days in North America, Fils-Aime also commented that Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabbids and EA's Madden for the Wii were other top sellers for the console, as was Atlus' Trauma Center: Second Opinion.
Defending Nintendo's upcoming first-party Wii line-up in North America, which has WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Wii Play and Mario Party 8 debuting by March 2007, Fils-Aime commented to MTV of any perceived post-launch 'drought': "I wasn't here for the GameCube launch, but there was a time period when there were no titles. There wasn't even titles you could or could not sink your teeth into. Wii Play and WarioWare are going to be hugely fun titles." He also noted that Super Mario Galaxy will debut some time between March and Christmas 2007.
Talking to MTV, Fils-Aime also criticized some of the Wii software launch reviews, particularly for Ubisoft's Red Steel: "I think a lot of the reviews have been overly critical. Does it take you a few minutes to get used to the control scheme? Yes. Once you get used to it does it play extremely well? Absolutely. I think a lot of those reviews are overly harsh." Regarding online play, Fils-Aime was direct, if not very specific: "For the consumer who is saying, 'Gosh, when is Nintendo going to get on board with online play?' The answer is very early in 2007."
Finally, the Nintendo president ended by talking about his plans for the Wii's game line-up into the future: "The piece that I am more and more involved in is really looking longer-term and making sure the full range of games are being brought to the Americas. Making sure we have core gamer games like Metroid, like Galaxy. Making sure we have our types of market-extension games not only for Wii but for DS."

Finally got through the main telephone line to talk about my Wii 110213 error this morning and set up the replacement. They seem to be on the ball with shipping. My new Wii has already shipped out and I have a tracking number. Sadly, I believe my Zelda save is kaput, but we shall see.
Anyway, the way it's setup shaves a few days off getting a 360 replaced; in comparison.

Then again, online play for any Wii game seems kinda dull at the moment with no Mic.
