And the fact that 75% of the people who've bought a Wii have bought Twlight Princess is just amazing.

Wanted to post about a couple of neat/funny things that have just happened.

First off, when my wife was playing Wii Sports, my dog thought she was playing with him...and he'd jump up in front of her every time she'd swing the tennis racket. rotfl

The other thing was that while my wife was playing Twilight Princess (I waited in line for this damn thing for 10 hours, and have gotten about 45 minutes of playing time with it, lol), I was near the Wii trying to get the serial number so I could register it, and I accidentally ejected the game disc. I put the disc back in, and after a second, my wife kept playing, like nothing had happened. I've never seen that happen with a system before...was very cool.

I've put 15 hous on Zelda alone and plenty of Wii Sports and Excite Truck all on the pack in batteries. If someone is getting 5 hours, something might be wrong with the remote.

What type of encryption do you have turned on on your router? The Wii supports both kinds, the DS only 1 (i think WEP).

Just researched it, and to answer my own question in case others were wondering...Nintendo systems come with a free 12 month warranty! Pretty awesome. So with the three month free extension for registering your console, you get a 15 month warranty. Nintendo's website has a place where you can enter your serial number in and check the status of the warranty - mine expires 2.23.2008. :rock2:

Same thing here. Someone was playing Tony Hawk, I took the disc out, and they kept playing. Someone told me one of the games on their PS1 or PS2, you can take out the game, put in a CD, and it will play the music from the CD (I guess until the end of the level).

I've had it happen on some PS2 and x-box games. It happens on games where the game is streamed to the memory, and only reads the cd/dvd when you go to new areas etc.

Man The Wii looks horrible on my HDTV with those crappy composite cables. I had to move the Wii to my 4x3 Tv because I was getting a headache from looking at the murky screen. I can't wait to get my hands on some component cables.

Yeah, parts of Zelda look very murky.

YMMV, but if you're looking for a remote/nunchuk/classic call or go to your local Wal-Mart. Just came back from mine and they had all 3. Cag.com has some users posting similar results that their local Wal-Mart received Wii accessories today.

Wow, thats cool...Thanks for the info. I was assuming that it was like a month with and extra 90 days, but 15 months is pretty nice.

Anyone else tried switching wireless networks? When I first set up my Wii, I connected without problem to my wireless router at home (Linksys WRT54G). I got both updates fine, no other problems. Over Thanksgiving, I took it with me to my parents, and connected to their wireless network (I set up a second connection for this) again, no problems.

Now that I am home, my Wii claims it can't seem to re-connect to my original wireless at home. I tried deleting the connection and re-creating it. I don't have encryption turned on, my wirless is mixed B/G mode on channel 1, and it is set to not broadcast the SSID. (None of these settings have changed anytime in the last couple weeks)

What's wierd is, I do see a DHCP client connection that I don't recognize, with a host name of 35700015012927B Not sure if that is my console, or something else I don't recognize...

Picked up a Wii today! Was too busy to pop it in. Look forward to setting it up tomorrow and will post thoughts.

slop101 11-28-06 01:21 AM

Colbert just did a hilarious bit on his show where he talked up the Wii and had a Mii version of himself boxing a Mii version of Nancy Pelosi.

Supermallet 11-28-06 01:41 AM

Niiiice.

slop101 11-28-06 01:54 AM

Although the Colbert Mii that I made the other day looks a lot better and more like him than the one he made himself.

tanman 11-28-06 02:28 AM

Mine crashed on me too. Playing basball with the loud buzzing. strange.

Another problem I've been having is that sometimes the remotes will just lose their connection. It is usually solved when I hit a button and reconnect but sometimes It doesn't and I have to restart. Anyone else have this problem?

steebo777 11-28-06 07:29 AM

FINALLY, my component cables should arrive today!!!

Precisely the reason I haven't even started playing Zelda yet.

Yes, this happens to me. It seems to happen in Wii Sports baseball only. I switched to my other remote and was able to play a full game successfully so it might just be that one remote. Maybe there's something loose inside and moving it really fast shuts it down?

KurrptSenate 11-28-06 08:42 AM

I was thinking about getting a router for when I pick up my Wii (hopefully very soon)

i should be find with a linksys WRT54G, correct?

if so, theres also a compact version of that same router that I've been looking at getting. I need one to work with a DS, Wii, PSP, and a 360 wireless adapter

http://cgi.ebay.com/Linksys-WRT54G-w...QQcmdZViewItem

thanks in advance

My component cables are preparing for shipment from the Nintendo store. I've been assigned a tracking number. I ordered on 11/16. I now have this and the classic controller. Now I just need to see if I get a Wii and Zelda by Christmas.
