Ordered here too! Except they caught me fiddling with my game choices. Ha! Somehow I managed to not put Zelda in the queue. But I'm okay with that. I'm sure I'll know someone with it. I'll just borrow. I'm no Zelda-nut anyway.

Rayman
Madden 07
Red Steel
Trauma Center

...but damn that tax kills the thing, though.

edit: yep, cancelled mine too.

I put one in my cart, but it's way too much money to spend on video games. I passed.

FUCK! It let me put it in the cart but said "configuration unavailable" with the titles I selected. Did it again slightly different and same thing. Third time was a no go. OOS. God damnit!

Just curious what exactly you two were expecting it to be? Tax is 8.517% around here so I know that my pre-shipping total would be $579. Why would you be suprised it was close to $600 after tax and shipping?

I thought it would be ~585 for me (and it was), but I changed my mind after looking at it. I'd love a Wii, but right now I'm only interested in buying Zelda. When I got my PS2 @ launch, I purchased it in a bundle with several games I never liked or played. I thought upon this and decided purchasing a bundle would not be in my best interest. Believe it or not, purchasing a Wii is not at the top of my to-do list. I've got a lot of other stuff on my mind that I'm focusing on... So I haven't really put much thought into it. I saw this thread, and took a look.

for me it was the reality of paying 600.00 for the bundle I guess. I just used shipping/tax as an additional justifier.

Just curious what changed between the time you worked the numbers out before the sale started, including your previous bundle experience, and when you got to the checkout page. Hopefully Walmart.com's system doesn't work based on inventory numbers and reserve units based on incomplete orders thereby preventing another seriously interested party in obtaining theirs promptly in a first-come-first-served basis. Is that okay with you, sir?

Geez, talk about getting defensive. It just seems to me that if $585 was too much to spend, $533.56 would have turned you away instantly. Guess you were just caught up in the moment, and that's ok, you can admit it. It happens to all of us. I'm just waiting for the night/day-of for my moment.

see, this was my thing. I had the order in my cart and I started thinking -

1. the system is only 250.00.
2. I don't really need an extra controller as my wife very rarely plays games.
3. I usually only buy 1 game, 2 max on launch and I don't sell on ebay so then I'd have the hassle of trying to return the extras at Walmart and since mine is the pits it makes it even worse.
4. I don't have to have this on day 1

and after that plus seeing the little extra in shipping/tax I just closed my browser and moved on.

Man. There are a bunch of people with buyers remorse over at CAG as well. You had twelve hours to decide if the price was worth it. Now, those people may cancel when others could have gotten through.

<-- sour grapes.

What he said.

I did it to jump in when the moment came. And then ran the numbers more closely. I get excited. It's what I do. I'm also not a numbers guy, I'm a writer goddammit. I'm okay with it being precisely what I want for more than I want to spend, but when it's more than I need for more than I want to spend, that's the kill-deal.

Oh, I didn't mean to be defensive. (sorry) That's why I cut out "Is that okay with you, sir?".

I think saying "getting caught up in the moment" is a good way to describe my mindset. Like I said, I haven't been thinking about it much, saw the thread this morning, looked at walmart's site and it was live.

So what exactly was the shipping? You will get charged tax even when you buy it at a B&M --unless you live in OR or wherever else there is no sales tax.

But isn't Zelda the only Nintendo of America launch title? What's the 2nd title going to be? Please don't say Excite Truck.

If it is any consolation, I think you'll be able to walk into many places and buy one on launch day, and then you can laugh at those people for paying $25 shipping. I think the stores that you wouldn't normally think of for video games (Sears, Fred Meyer, etc) will be a good source on launch day.

For the GC launch, I just went to the Fred Meyer near me about 30 minutes before they opened and easily got one. They still had some left after everyone in line got one too.

Zelda and "to stir to action; provoke or stir up" "any of various wheeled frames used for transporting heavy objects." (Or as I'd call it Semi Aroused (technically it's Aroused Semi, but.. you know)) are the only two US Nintendo Launch Titles.
