Play-Asia Reveals Assassin's Creed Collector's Edition with Figure

I just saw this today at Cheap Ass Gamer and, since I didn't see it mentioned in any other threads, I thought I'd just start one.

Here's the link: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/archive...ith-figure.php

Add that to the Xbox 360 With Free Game at Amazon offer (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/archive...-at-amazon.php) and I may finally get myself a 360.

It says the US version is going to be $100 but that the version up for pre-order at Play-Asia is $59.90.

Here's the Play-Asia link: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...3-70-1o6i.html

Posted in the last 360 compendium. You didn't note in your post that it is the region free Asian version that is for sale for $59. Sure it works here, but that is a big detail to leave out.

Should also note they are doing the same thing with the PS3 & PC versions as well.

It is rumored the US collector's edition will be $100.

Sorry. I didn't see it in the 360 compendium. Given that it's made by Ubisoft, I wouldn't be suprised if it has multiple language options and, therefor, I wouldn't be suprised if the game is playable in English.

Looking at the site again:
Release Date Mar, 2007
Language Multi
Genre Action Adventure
Version Asia

Box contents
Assasin's Creed
12 Inch Collectible Statue
I'll just have to verify in the official forum of Assassin's Creed.

Also note that the statuette will be in color when it ships. $85 is still a lot for this. I'm on the fence. I never bought anything from play-asia. Are they reliable?

$85? What shipping method do you plan to use?

I've ordered a couple games from them (Far Cry Instincts Predator and Saints Row for the Xbox360) and have been extremely happy with them. I was going to buy Splinter Cell Double Agent, but opt'd for TRU's sale instead and cancelled it.

My orders came in a little over a week using cheapest shipping ($3.10 for one game in a bubble pack) and included stickers (Play-Asia specific ones for Lost Planet, Okami, etc; ), a coupon ($5 off $50), and a demo disc (well, Saint's Row came with that In The Groove PC demo).

You quoted $15 as the cheapest shipping a few posts up. $70 + $15 = $85

Hell yeah. I didn't hesitate. A CE here at $70 + tax is about $75, and all the shit here is metal tins and crappy DVDs. There is no comparing this collector's edition to what else is out on the market for the price.

Agreed. Which is why I was so excited when I saw the link at Cheap Ass Gamer. This is definitely a steal.

Do they charge your card now or when it ships? And are they still available?

Assassin's Creed Delayed!

from Gamespot.com
Of course, with all this good news came a smidgen of bad tidings. With GRAW 2 sliding into Q1 2007, two games were pushed back. In a statement, the company said, "[The launch of GRAW 2] will take the place of Assassin's Creed and Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway, which will now strengthen fiscal year 2007-08," which runs from April 2007 through March 2008.

Assassin’s Creed was meant to appear on the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3 in the beginning of 2007, alongside Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway. Now both games have been pushed back at least 6 months, no reason was given for the delay.

BTW, for those who've ordered from Play-Asia before, is that affiliate progam of theirs worth it or a waste of time?

I'm not sure about the Affiliate program, though considering how much I whore them out to my friends, I should.

That said, I have a $5 off $50 coupon (exp. Nov 9th, 2006) if anyone wants it, not sure it works on pre-orders.

I'll take it if you are truly willing to part with it. But why not use it yourself?

Gamestop is still showing the first week of April for this game. I'm not sure if it's been updated in a while though.

Probably just a holding date until something is confirmed. Similar to putting up Halo 3 or GTAIV.
