Come kick my ass. I pre-ordered something.

Come one come all. Beat me down, for I've pre-ordered.

I went to EB today to trade in some games...and thanks to stupid coupons, Edge memberships and a pre-order deal I got 30% added to my total. The good news, that 30% was an extra $25 plus he knocked $30 (yes, dollars) off a vga cable for me. So out the door I went with a Gears of War pre-order, VGA cables and a new edge subscription (For game informer) for $85. Still left with ~25 in credit too.

Yeah, pre-orders suck...but for 20% increase on a trade in? I can handle it.

Eh, for all the junk people talk about preorders and trading crap in, if you use the right coupons and offers it adds up pretty good. I think you made out damn well, I've never heard of anybody just knocking a chunk off the price, good deal.

Yesterday I traded my original Xbox and all of my controllers, games, and accessories in and walked out with a 360. I already had a 360, but with the HD add on coming in November, combined with the extra $90 I got by putting the trade toward the system instead of credit, I'm quite pleased (especially without the hassle of Ebay or trading).

yeah, I bullshitted (bullshat?) for a while and made him think his opinions on the wii and PS3 were important in aiding my choice to go for a Wii. Hence the $30 off the VGA adapter

$30 off VGA cables? You mean the $40 VGA cable for the 360? If one of my employees did that, he'd be fired.

Was the box damaged? Was it used? I just can't imagine a manager arbitrarily deciding to dock 3/4 of the price of an item. I'm not doubting that it happened, I just can't figure out why.

Who I am is a guy that was living there over the summer, I was just asking because it could have been fun to meet up for a beer. No worries.

1. Box was in perfect condition, sealed.
2. Blow him? Nope. Just stroked his ego a little.

And yeah, in Oregon. Too bad you just noticed now, cause a beer would have been nice.

because there was nothing else that interested me at the time to spend the trade in funds outright.

It's probably a good thing that that's the only thing you stroked...

I hate preordering, but I preordered Wii Zelda a week or to ago. Mainly because they were saying you'd get a call before Wii system preorders started if you preordered the game....and I have $162 in credit from their trade 3 get extra $10 deal so I want to get the console there if possible.

This is kinda odd. I went to a product demo for Tektronix today and the speaker was a developer from their headquarters in Beaverton, OR. I had just gotten done reading this thread before I went..
