Well, in South Atlanta area they were completely gone as well. Costco had zero, Sams had 5, Toys R Us had 19, Target 10, Best Buy 20, Walmart 20 but you had to camp to get them. I spent from 7-10 am this morning and came home with nothing. I was shocked honestly. People certainly had more supplies than ps3 yet it was gone immediately. I wouldn't wanna be Sony right now. Maybe launching 2 days later, when Nintendo knew they had more consoles (and supposedly TONS more on the way) than Sony, was a brilliant move. Time will tell, but it was a great day for Nintendo.
Really wanna try to see Blu-Ray on ps3 (I have a big home projection screen) and try out the wii. I'll just wait it out and buy on sight in a store. Interesting times.

BB, CC and TRU had around 20 or so a piece.

Speaking of Sears, I went to theri sight and it said they had Wii's but when you click the item you get some weird "product.do" file. Firefox asked if I wanted to save it or open and I jsut clicked cancel.

What the hell is that?

Our Best Buy had 80 with 60 more on order. I think I'll get in on the 60 when they come in.

If any Canadians missed out Sears.ca says they have them in stock. I ordered from there and it went through. Hopefully their real inventory matches what the website says they have.

I didn't make it to toys r us last night, but I got up early this morning so I drove by target at about 730 and there must've been 100 people lined up. Crazy.

After finishing some errands it was 945 so I decided to stop by sears for the heck of it. There were 15-20 people waiting, and everyone was in a pretty jovial mood (Person A: "Where will they have the Wii's?" Person B: "Take the stairs all the way up to the roof." Everyone: *Laughter*)

Guy came out at 955 and said they didn't get their shipment of Wii's and he had no idea when they would. But "they might have two in San Bruno" Everyone: *Groan*

Congrats to everyone who scored a system. Guess I have to wait a couple weeks. Time to get back to guitar hero 2.

I work at the Stockton Best Buy. I'm not sure what Elk Grove's stock is looking like, they're in a different district.

My brother surprised me with a call this morning saying he camped out starting at 1 AM this morning and got one. He really had no interest in the things at all until I was telling him about them a week ago, him and a friend were bored and drunk, so decided to go stand in the frigid weather for a while.

I didn't plan on getting one for a few weeks, but he tells me I can have this one for now since he's got exams he should be studying for this week...lucky me.

Sounds like the extra controllers are pretty much gone? Any ideas when they'll be getting more? (hoping by Wed. so we can play over Thanksgiving weekend?)

And I doubt he got component cables - they in yet?

No luck at my WalMart, but like I said, Zelda was in the case teasing me.

Employee said they got 20, but were gone in a heartbeat, and he barely got one himself.

I started in line at Best Buy at 4 a.m. I was #25. People started trickling in more and more until there was a large line. The store got 87 Wiis though, so most were accomodated.

There were two area Targets, at least, that did not form lines until late (not sure on final Wii numbers), but Wal-Marts filled up fast and all only got 20.

It was a cold wait (low 20s) but a pretty good experience overall.

Got mine from FYE this afternoon. Had to buy 2 games and an extra controller/nunchuck. As a bonus, checking my receipt, I was charged -$49 for one of the games! Hmm, I thought the total was low when he said it, now I know why. Oh well, free game for me. Went to Target afterwards, they had plenty of games and accessories, so I got 3 more games (for the $20 GC), a classic controller, and Wii Points.

edit to add: there were more than a few people walking into both FYE and down the hall at Gamestop looking sadly for one.

People check Target's web site for availability. Inglewood, CA @ 3471 W Century Blvd shows "Limited Availability" so they might still have some.

12 hours ago, a search on eBay for "Nintendo Wii System" yielded a little under 1200 results. Now there are just under 3600. I'll be interested to see what auctions are closing at b the end of the week...

Well that's refreshing to hear. I would have expected to hear "What will you give me for it?"

Might be referring to this site: http://www.ps3seeker.com/wii/

That's what I used this morning to plan out what stores to try first. Gave up after 4 tries. Luckily my gf is getting me one for Christmas, atleast I hops so, but unfortunately I've got the "want it now syndrome".

I had great fun getting my Wii at the Toys R Us in Burbank. I hadn't camped out for anything in awhile especially a game console. You could start lining up outside at 5pm on Saturday according to a sign in the store, which I ended up getting there about 8pm that night. There was about 10 people already when I got there. The guy infront of me worked at Fry's, but they weren't letting their employees buy, so that's why he was there. Shortly after I arrived to three other people showed up. One was a mother getting a Wii for her son whose birthday it was on Sunday. The other people was a mother and son. All the people in line were very friendly and talkitive. People were going on food runs for each other and holding each others places in line for bathroom breaks, which most of us went for a break just before TRU closed. Around 4am and then again at about 6am the TRU employees that were getting the store ready start escorting people into the store for bathroom breaks, which was very kind of them. A little after 7:30am one employee came out and gave everyone a ticket, by which time the line had got quite long. There ended up being 47 tickets given out, but I'm not sure if anyone missed out. At 9:30am they open the doors and the same employee that gave us the tickets re-warned us that if anyone ran they would lose their ticket. So, everyone walked slowly to form another line just outside the R Zone section. They started letting people in 5 at time according to the number on their tickets, as well was letting in a few of the pre-order people as well. It all seemed to go slowly and smoothly. More people showed up after the tickets were given out and a lot more people were asking about getting a Wii after the store opened, but were told they had no more left.

One weird thing a little before the store closed for the night, some old lady drove up and said she had talked to the manager and that they only had 20 units and the police had been called to kick us out from lining up in front of the store. One of the guys in line went into the store and asked the manager and a couple of employees and found out that wasn't true. Not sure what the old lady was trying to prove by doing that.

Well, that's my story. Just wanted to share. I had a great night.

That stinks. I drove by that location at about 7:40 on the way to check out what Target and BB looked like, but I asked someone waiting out front and they said they'd given out all the tickets. I must have just missed them.
I'm pretty amazed by the popularity- I thought I might me able to go out this morning and procure one with just a few hours wait time in line, but every store had what looked like more customers in line than the store would have Wii's.

I agree. They show these idiots in line a week early and I can only shrug. Big fuckin deal in your 80 degree weather. Try 12-36 hours out in the 30 degree(not counting wind chill) weather.

I ended up caming out at Target after seeing smaller supplies and more demand for the Wii than I expected. Despite the fact I have one coming from Amazon, I have to work at the end of the week anyway so I wanted it now. I breezed out to Meijer to get the free nunchuck deal only to find out people were camped since the night before.

Waited at target from 11:30pm in my wife's purple hooded sweatshirt and white winter gloves (scrounged out of her car which I happened to drive).

I was #13. About 12-14 people came out at 5-6am to wait. They all got Wiis as our Target had 33. At 7am they handed out tickets and free popcorn/pop, and said to come back at 8am when they would re-line us up in number order. A few people showed up right at 8ish and got the last 1-2 tickets. Kudos to target for the friendly people and free food. A few years ago they gave out coffee/hot chocolate in the black friday line, too.

Total local count:

Meijer: 8
Walmart: 20
Target: 33
