Question About the 360 and Getting HD
Hey guys...I am getting the 360 either tomorow or Friday probably. I am gonna get the Premium version I think...since it comes with the HD cables. Here's my question though...
This is my TV: http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Sony-KV-40XBR800
Now, to get HD channels, I need a HD receiver (I have DirecTV)...and since the HD channels are so limited and the service is so expensive, I don't have HD. But, I do have an HD ready TV.
So here's my question...if I get the HD cables...and hook the 360 up to my TV, will I get the games in HD? Or do I have to be receiving HD signals from an HD receiver to ALSO get HD from my video games?
Thanks...hopefully that was understandable.

HD ready just means your tv does not have an internal HD decoder. Any external HD source like direct TV, dishnetwork, xbox 360, ps3, etc will be in HD when connected to your tv using a component video cable (red, green, blue).

Get ready to be blown away.
There's a switch on the HD cable that you'll need to switch to HD. Also, make sure you switch the 360 to 720 or 1080i in the system menu. Just so you know some backwards compatible XBOX games will look stretched out and crappy if you don't switch the 360(not the cable btw) back to 480p before you play them.
