Neither of the Blockbusters I went to had any of the games I bought marked down or on a clearance table, but they all rang up correctly. As long as you're at a Blockbuster with a GameRush, the prices should be in the system with the appropriate discounts.

Winning Eleven is IMO the best soccer game ever.

I wish we had GameRush stores around here. I guess I will have to wait and see if there is anything once I go down to central Fla. Does anyone know if they are going to open more game rushes? It seems like I haven't heard of anymore opening.

I think the prevailing rumor is that they're going to close them down. They certainly haven't been pushing the brand lately... the deals have dried up (though this 75% sale is accompanied by an extra 5 buck per game trading deal, which is killer). There are no longer dedicated Gamerush employees. They've been very sporadic in getting new games.

Last night I hit two more stores near me and picked up Timesplitters: Future Perfect, XIII, Batman Begins and Psi-Ops for PS2 and Viewful Joe 2 for Gamecube. Total was about $16.

The only thing I see on there that I'd call a must have is Beyond Good & Evil. Psychonauts would also be considered a must have, if not for the horrendous and frequent load times. Other than that, I played through Enter the Matrix and would say it's worth $5. I played the Mega Man Anniversary Collection for about 2 hours last night and it's definitely worth $5 if you have any kind of nostalgia for the series.

If they have anything at all in stock that you want, it's a pretty good time to trade in games. The current deal is that if you trade in 3 or more games, they add $5 to each game's trade-in value. The only rule is that to qualify, they have to be selling the game for $7 or more used.

I hit 3 Gamerush stores (lucky to have 3 so close) and the employees were clueless as to what was on sale.

I picked up the PS2 remote, PSP Battery, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Mortal Kombat: Deceptions w/ Bonus pack, and Syphon Filter: TOS for less than $30.

I was able to pick Dead to Rights 2, Metal Arms, the Capcom Street Fighter controller, and Wario Ware Twisted. I tried to buy Hulk, but its the old Hulk on clearance, not "The Incredible Hulk".
Not alot of selection to be honest.

I noticed the NYKO theater case for the PSP for $15 and figured what the hell. It charges the PSP and has speakers so how bad can it be for $15. Its actually pretty bad sound wise, but a decent aluminum case with a 7 hour built in battery so its worth $15 either way. The speakers are decent for 1" speakers, but have a lot of hum in them. I also picked up a little stand for charging GBA SPs for a quarter. I'll buy about anything if its cheap enough.

Seems odd - I've been to about 5 gamerush stores, and gotten several games - but in many cases, they have other games from the list above used, but not on clearance.

That been the case for everyone else too?

(I had them ring some up that I thought were in this sale, and they were priced as mark - perhaps I only picked bad examples?)

The clearance is on new merchandise. It's possible that Game Rush has used copies at a higher price. That would be typical of how Blockbuster has run this operation.

Usually, their cluelessness has benefitted the customer... to the tune of hundreds (or even thousands) in store credit.

I grabbed a Bloodrayne 2 (PS2) today... seems like they tried to segregate the sale stuff to a display rack, but they still had empty box titles sitting in bins.

I would call ahead because some of the stores they have listed for my area have been closed for a while.

There are also a lot that aren't listed at all. For some reason, none of the Indianapolis stores would come up when I put in my zipcode, even though there are 3 within a five mile radius of my office.
