Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan / Elite Beat Agents

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (Go! Fight! Cheer Squad)

Elite Beat Agents

Has anyone else played Ouendan? It seems to be all the rage among import maniacs and from the responses in the trade forum it looks like not too many people knew what it was. It's basically a rhythm game played with the stylus and it's gotten fantastic reviews. I don't usually "get" rhythm games but I thought this one was pretty good, so far. Really hard though. And I have the difficulty set to "Lighthearted cheering!"

I'm looking forward with the US release of Elite Beat Agents. I have the Japanese version and finished the easy mode. I guess there are 3 modes, easy, normal, and difficult (cheerleaders mode). I've yet to finish the normal mode.

It's a great game with great song list. I'm hoping that the upcoming Elite Beat Agents have great song list as well.

I've got Ouendan! Its pretty fun! The song list of the japanese version is hit or miss for me (as most music games are for me), I like some of them, others I'm not too fond of, however the majority are good and its pretty fun to play, and the game is really wacky and its interesting to see how each stage plays out. I haven't beaten the normal stage yet due to all the other DS games that came out that I'm STILL playing.

Elite Beat Agents is looking really good! I watched a demo playthrough of the first stage, and they've kept the same level of wackiness! If the rest of the game is anything like the first stage you should buy it .

I imported this game as well, the 1st song is catchy as hell, the one where you help the kid study harder...

But the one where it's like a roulette and the circle get's smaller, what am I suppose to do there?

If that's what I think it is, you just have to spin the wheel as fast as you can.

Can A non-japanese guy play this? I know absolutely no Japanese...is there an English option?

Along those lines...I'm heading to Japan this week, what other titles are worth picking up that can be played easy enough for a non japanese speaker?

There's no English option, so obviously you don't know what they're saying in the animations but from what I understand it's easy to figure out what's going on in them. As for learning how to play, it's very simple if you just go on Youtube or something and watch some videos. It's all just tapping the circles, tracing the lines, and spinning the spinners.

I'm not well-versed in other Japanese DS titles, but you might pick up a Japanese copy of Phoenix Wright if you don't have a U.S. copy (impossible to find). It has an English option which is exactly the same as what made its way here.

All the Ebay auctions of Ouedan from Hong Kong - are that legitimate releases?

No promises...but I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for the tip on Phoenix Wright! I'll look for that one!

As far as I can tell, yes. I won two auctions by mistake and although the seller was different, they shipped from the same source. 100% legit by my account.

I got mines from eBay as well, he was actually located in CA so the games came in less than a week... Oh and tnx for the reply JoeBloe69, I'll try that.

With this game, and the all the massive circuit city and toys r us games, my psp has gotten very jealous of the ds lite....

Good game but I lost interest in it really quick. Glad I only borrowed it.

I played the heck out of Osu! Tatakae! Ouedan! and I still do. It's an amazingly addictive little game with lots of catchy tunes (if you're a j-pop/j-rock fan that is).

I'll definitely pick up Elite Beat Agents (as it looks more like a Westernized sequel than a port thus far).

This game is fantastic but it is really hard, for me at least. I have been stuck on the stage with the pottery man for a good two weeks now. I'm slowly getting better, so at least there's that.

I love the game, though the beat on the last song (Ready Steady Go, I think it is) keeps throwing me off.

I love this game, but for rhythm game veterans, it's not a hard game. It's more memorization than most, but that's not a bad thing. The reason people say it's hard is because of the fact that you won't be able to pass a level without multiple tries, since you really need to know the song.

Other than that though, once you know these songs it gets quite easy. It's probably the only rhythm game out where I can complete the hardest song on the hardest difficulty. Beatmania, Guitar Hero, DDR... on the hardest difficulties, yeah right.

So you beat Ready Steady Go on the difficulty with the girl cheer squad?

I can barely make it through some levels on Easy.
