box art and info on the Live Arcade "unplugged" retail disc: Original Info
http://img434.imageshack.us/img434/219/unpluggedeh7.jpg As you can see, the official preliminary box art indicates that the game "Includes the hit game Geometry Wars and a 1-month subscription to Xbox Live Gold." But since Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged is listed at $39.99, one would hope that the other Live Arcade games pictured on the box would be included as well. Arcade fans may recognize titles like Wik: Fable of Souls, Bejeweled, Hardwood Backgammon, and Texas Hold 'Em Poker. GameStop lists Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged: Volume 1 as shipping on September 2. |
I believe it also includes Texas Hold 'Em Poker, Bejeweled 2, Outpost Kaloki X, Wik: Fable of Souls, and Hardwood Backgammon. Hence the $39.99 price.
The packaging just doesn't say that on the front of the box. |

8. How much will the Xbox 360 games cost (average)? The same as current generation: $49.99 USD for new releases. Microsoft has confirmed that they don’t have plans to charge more than fifty bucks for their first-party next-generation titles, although some games will have special editions that will be sold at $59.99. The price of games is often determined by individual publishers and retailers. Therefore, many third-party games are currently listed to retail for $59.99. RE: Poker - it's a cool system so far from what I've seen, and should be able to keep the crappy players out of the higher stakes tables. |
I'm definitely buying the 360 once that bundle hits stores. I got a ton of money eating up my pocket and I can't wait to get this system now.

OOOOOHHH!!! Even though I expect to be ridiculously disappointed in the actual game, I can't wait to try out the demo for Dead Rising (d/l now).
Also, SOTN on XBL...wow, just wow. |

The Dead Rising demo is decent. When the title and the start screen popped up I was already creeped out and "on edge"...(read, kinda scared  ) But hey, that's a good thing right? I always get this way with Survival Horror games because they always get my heart rate going.

Just played it for about 30 minutes, it seems pretty damn fun. I do have an issue with the fact that there seems to be very few different attacks with each weapon...most seem to only have 1 or 2, and you only have one attack button. But regardless, I had a fun time with it, and can see playing the demo quite a bit more before the game comes out next week. |

The Dead Rising demo is fun wen it comes to killing the walking dead but can you do any of the mission objectives? I played the demo 2 times and each times I walked into some area, a cut scene played and then the demo was over. It seems like a cool game but it's a shitty demo.

I love the Dead Rising Demo I have played it about 5 times already. I can't wait to get a copy of the game so I can hack away at more zombies. My favorite weapon has to be the hunting knife, I get very fast kills with it. I found the toy store with the light saber swords, they weren't so great only for knocking the zombies back not killing them.

How big does the mall feel? Do you get the sense you're really in a giant shopping mall? And how about the hundreds of zombies on screen at once. Does the 360 pull it off? Any slowdown? |
yeah the demo is pretty awesome, i havent played for that long but doesnt seem like the whole mall is open to expore but there are tons of zombies on screen with no apparent slowdown, graphics are very good. games a ton of fun, I love using the golf club and hitting zombies with golf balls. very fun. cant wait to pick this game up. stores feel like real stores though, the toy store is neat, so detailed you can zoom in and read all the boxes of the toys. very cool

There are a good number of zombies on screen but it's nothing really overwhelming. I was pretty nervous that it would be too many zombies. The demo really drops you into the middle of the mall and it's kill or be killed. I would like to know big the mall in the full game is when compared to the demo in the mall. The mall is decent but I'm worried that it won't be as big as I previously thought. |
I can't seem to get this to last for more than a few minutes total. I start a zombie killing spree and all of a sudden a cut scene and the demo ends.
|
Well there is an upstairs to the mall unfortunately when I got there the demo time ran out. I also made it clear across the mall over to the movie theater, but when I entered a cut scene started ending the demo. I didn't see any slow down in the game when the amount of zombies started growing. One thing I did like was when you thought a zombie was down he got right back up and scared the heck out of me. Getting across the mall is no easy task since most of the zombies are gathered in that area, I ended up using a bench to mow all the zombies down.
|
ok, I just tried another game and this one lasted a total of about 30sec. I killed about 5 zombies and then I walked into the Entrance Plaza and got a cut scene and that was it. I guess I'll stay away from that area in the demo.
|
Here is the map of the mall.

I really enjoyed the demo, but the cutscenes have me convinced that a lot of the fun of the full game will be finding survivors and progressing through the story. Zombie slaughter is a lot of fun, but the characters and plot will give it a little more longevity. The core gameplay is really entertaining, and there's a good amount of humor. I'm really looking forward to the full game - just a few days left! |
|
One thing I will do when I get this game is change the soundtrack to something rocking. None of the dumb Mall music.
|
I've already read about some "erotica" bonus for taking photos. Try an upskirt of the zombie girl...
