What brightness setting are you using on your DS Lite?

Just curious. 3 for me. 2 is nice, but still a little dim, 4 is too bright indoors.

Three seems just right. The colors really pop. Mario Kart looks like a whole new game. Never new the track on Luigi's Mansion was that bright of green before!

One long review I googled and read said he estimated his battery life at 15 hours on the lowest and 7 hours on highest. I was getting 8-9 or so on my regular DS, so looks like I'll get about the same on level 3.

Three. I will use four when I'm outside. Pretty much the same settings I use on the micro.

Have it on 3. actually when I powered the system on for the first time I thought it was on 4, the highest setting already because it was so damn impressive. Low and behold when I went to the options and put it on the highest setting, I didn't think it could get any brighter, but it did! Haven't played outside yet, but i'm guessing 4 would do. And that is also some damn impressive battery life at all of those settings.

I started it on four, but then dropped to three. I'll probably raise it back to four when it is very bright outside and leave it on three the rest of the time.

I set the thing to High hoping it'd help drain the battery (from out of box, so I could do a full charge on it from nothing). I was wrong, damn thing is a trooper.

I as well thought it was on 4 when I booted, but it was on 3... Great screen. 3 is perfect... Is 3 brighter than the Original DS was?

Yup, 1 is just a TAD brighter than the original DS. Very minimal, but still.

I've been using 4 but turned it down to 3 last night in a bar, in the dark 4 was blinding.

2 has been good for me in regular indoor lighting, though I turned it down to 1 when I was playing in bed in the dark.

I never saw the original screen so I can't compare.

I don't even know where to change this, but the default setting seems fine.

Default is 3.

When you turn it on and you're on the screen where you touch to start the DS or GBA game (assuming you didn't set it to auto load) theirs a little "light" (kind of looks like a son or *) in the bottom left corner. Touching that will toggle between the 4 modes.

I looked all day for this yesterday. I thought it was a physical button I was missing. I had to actually break out the manual to figure it out. Sad.

I roll with 3 or 4 depending on the location.

It's damn hard draining this battery

Gallant Pig,

Are you really playing just on 1? That's pretty much the same as the regular DS and looks like crap compared to 2 and up.

I've got mine set at 4. For me, the colors just really pop when it's at the brightest setting. What's funny is I powered up my old DS and did a comparison and it is literally like night and day between the two. Loving my DS Lite!

I went with two...

I got the thing yesterday (wednesday,) played a couple of hours last night, and a couple this morning, until the factory charge died... It took about 3-4 hours to recharge.

I am LOVING this!!! My GBA is one of the original versions, not an SP, so I didn't have ANY light, except for an awkward wormlight (along with a really bulky 3rd party rechargeable battery...)

But why don't you just make 10 louder and make that the loudest?
