Some free crap at Circuit City with Purchase.

****Free DS Lite Mario Bundle with purchase of DS Lite // Bundle includes case, Mario skins & bag rag

From speedy1961's thread in DVD bargains.

Could be worthwhile if the case is decent. Doubt I'll bother though as my CC is a joke.

Knowing Circuit Shitty they'll only have 5 cases and be mysteriously Sold Out before the store even opens on release day.

:P

darkside 06-06-06 05:32 AM

Hmm, hopefully they get a lot of these. My brother in law frequently grabs Circuit City swag for me if they have some left over after the first week.

Coupon valid 06/09 - 06/26

I picked this coupon up yesterday and it says it cannot be used for game consoles, so I doubt they will let anyone use it on the DS lite. Has anyone heard anything different?

Just a little info on the case. Based on the description, I think they're talking about this DS Lite Mario Bundle Pack. I picked this up last week and I'm pretty happy with it. I could care less about the skins (who would want to defile the sexy DS Lite with some cheap, garish skin?), but the case and cleaning cloth are nice. The case is really more of a soft sleeve - it's intended to prevent the outer surface from getting scratched, not protect it if it's dropped or anything like that. My original DS has a bunch of scratches on its outside, so I wanted to prevent the same thing from happening with the Lite. The cleaning cloth is also kinda handy, since you can attach it to the case, and it's sewn into a little bag so you can't lose it.

So, yeah, I paid $10 for it and felt satisfied with the purchase, so if you can get it as a freebie, I'd say go for it.

I don't think the bonus is really swag though, it's an official bundle thing from Nintendo, you can buy it for $9.99 at gamestop and other stores, so I imagine CC will just sell any left over mario packs.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I will stick with Best Buy then.

I'd like to grab the free case, but I don't trust my local CC to have them (didn't have New SMB on the day/time the ad said) so I'm planning on trying Target 1st as they open at 8 am on Sunday and that one didn't sell any early. If there are none there I'll try the CC when it opens at 10.

Okay, that is what it is. My wife bought the princess Peach version of this case and its okay, but not something I will go out of my way for.

I noticed in the EB/Gamestop ads for this week that if you buy a new DS you get a free carrying case. It looks like a case for the original DS, so I'm not sure if the deal works if you buy the DS Lite on Sunday.

I'm hoping that they'll let you have ANY case (including the mario case CC is giving away)

I mentioned it when I paid for my DS Lite today, they said no sweat and game me their Gamestop Travel Case which retails for $9.99. I compared it to the Super Mario case that they had there (which is the same one that CC is giving away I am assuming) and I liked the Gamestop case much better. The gamestop case is definitely harder & more protective than the Mario sleeve. Sure the Mario sleeve comes with a cleaning cloth but there is more than enough room in the GS case to put a microfiber cloth in there if you want one. There is also a little area in it which holds games. Pretty nice for free.

Wow, Great last minute deal just popped up on Best Buy.com

Brain Age free with Purchase of DS lite with this coupon.

http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US...lite.pdf?h=403

Guess I'm not getting up and heading to target at 8 after all. Will get to best buy before opening at 11.

Jeremy517 06-11-06 12:54 AM

Awesome. Thanks Josh.

Jeremy517 06-11-06 01:03 AM

BTW, in-store pickup is available now. I don't know how it would work with the coupon though.

Josh H 06-11-06 01:08 AM

Yeah, tempting, but think I'll just wait as the coupon does say they have to be on the same receipt.

Michael Corvin 06-11-06 01:24 AM

Sweet find Josh.

Coupon for brain age free at CC. I'll try there first since it opens an hour before best buy, with any luck will be able to get the lite, the game and the case they're giving away.

Wick 06-11-06 08:38 AM

I'm just about to head to my local Best Buy. I'd love to be able to use the coupon someone posted, but I live in Canada. Hopefully they'll have some sort of deal, but I didn't see anything in their flyer. Future Shop is giving away some sort of cleaning kit with it, though.

Jeremy517 06-11-06 08:56 AM

Interesting that the CC coupon says it is a manufacturer's coupon. I wonder why we haven't seen it at other stores.

Zodo 06-11-06 09:02 AM

Damnit!!! I'm about to pick up my DS Lite over at EB Games right now. Can I use this coupon there?

Edit: That's a negative...EB wouldn't take the coupon. Nuts to pre-ordering these systems. I'll just wait til release day next time and buy them where the best deal is.

Josh H 06-11-06 11:01 AM

First Circuit City was a joke (Wheaton, MD). Didn't have Brain Age or the Mario Bundle.

Went to the 1 at Rockville, and got Brain Age and the Mario Bundle free with little issue. Had to have the cashier find the mario bundle, and took him a while to ring it up at the right price (ended up over riding it to make the bundle and game free).

Best of all, no dead pixels!
