I have nothing to compensate for ;) we both have two sources but both of your TVs are bigger than mine :(

48" JVC RPTV

17" Samsung Widescreen LcdTV.

yeah I switch back and forth from time to time for some reason. Actually I like being in my bedroom while gaming, and the big projection TV won't fit in there. plus when you sit at a computer the screen is only a few feet away so the 17" is actually a good size for me.

50" LCD here.

I wonder if 360 can hook up Laptop screen - will it work?

edstein 05-22-06 02:00 PM

I just have one 360 (for now :D) but, my big screen is in storage right now so I have to settle on the 20" widescreen monitor. The monitor actually looks better because I can run it at 720p where my mits only does 1080i. Once I get into my new house I will either get another 360 or rig up some type of splitter so I can play on either screen. Another 360 would be more expensive but, alot less hassle. I guess I could just get a core system and take the hard drive from one to the other. That would save some cash.

Does your laptop have any video inputs? S-video, composite, VGA? If so, it will work.

McHawkson 05-22-06 04:18 PM

My laptop (Inspiron 6000) has two different video plugs - one is S-Video and other has 15-pin plug. But the icon shown TV icon on S-Video and other look like monitor icon on 15-pin.

I'm little tempt to try it.

HD doesn't go over S-video though, right?

I believe that is correct. It will go over component, but S-Video was established long before they thought of the U.S. standard of HD. But I could be wrong.

And the VGA port on the laptop is most likely a VGA out port so that you can display the laptop on an external monitor... not so that you can display something on the laptop's display. In fact, the S-video port is probably the same thing.

Yes, that's what I thought. No harm asking. :)

I alternate between:

30" Samsung CRT HDTV (totally awesome)

21" Gateway LCD HDTV Monitor (even MORE totally awesome, but I get sick of sitting in the computer desk chair)

I recently downgraded from a 65" Mitsu due to our kid and space limitations.

Definitely no HD over S-video. You need component video or VGA for 360 HD.

As for the original question, yes, I have HDTV for my 360.

locking this one because a poll was created - and the poll is more in tone with the thread request.
