Wii Hide, You Seek

Anyone read the rumor about this game. I wasn't thinking about getting any of this next generation of consoles, but I have to admit, this game is making me reconsider. The concept is so awesome I can't believe someone hadn't thought of it until now. This game sounds FUN.

Well, what an interesting concept. It's funny how games none of us would play in real life seem so appealing in video game form.

Speak for yourself, I still love a good round of Hide and Seek. Luckily I have many nieces and nephews and now my own son.

This sounds awesome!! We used to play a big HnS with about 20-30 people on 2 teams like this when I was about 12-14 (some people were 16 playing w/ us), and it rocked! I may now get a Wii.

But what happens while your hiding or once your caught? You just sit around waiting until the seeker catches you? The hiding role sound kinda boring to me.

Actually, I could imagine how they could make it a lot of fun. The article mentions that the same map will actually be different everytime you play it. Like a backyard might have a dog one time that would alert the seekers to your presence and not have one another time. I would imagine you mimght have the ability to use the dog to distract the seekers. Like hiding on the roof and doing something like throwing an object at the dog to get it to bark so that the seekers will run towards the dog while you get off the roof in the other direction. Or even grabbing a steak in the house to give to the dog to silence him while you hide in the doghouse. Don't forget, you also need to tag the seeker, not just find them.

They should give the hider's the option to play minigames while hiding...
the minigame could be as simple as tetris or snake, but the window it plays in blocks some of your vision and the sound effects distract you from hearing footsteps. So you are more likely to be caught.
With incentive... the higher you score on the minigame, the more points you get for your team.
That would be cool.

I think on page 9 somebody noticed this was posted by the same guy who posted a big hoax about one of the Metroid games a while back. So I don't think this is legit. Interesting concept, though.

If it isn't, I hope someone will now actually start development on it. I think this kind of game would have amazing potential. It's absolute freaking genius actually.

Not sure if it's legit, but it's not necessarily the first video hide and seek game. Remember Sneak 'n' Peek for Atari?

This game would be very cool if you could do melee attacks.

Honestly, this could be a very intersting game.

Imagine if it was like hide and seek in a big old haunted house, using the wiimote as a flashlight. It would probably scare the crap out of me if I actually found someone.

Nevermind. Read somewhere that it was a hoax. But still, a great idea for a game. Another great one would be WiiBall (aka dodgeball) where you use the controller to throw balls at the opponents. Now imagine mixing it with CTF gameplay. That would be one hellaciously addictive game.

Someone take this idea to Burger King. They need to get started if they're going to have it ready by Christmas 2007.

I guess I'm only the one that thinks it was a lame idea. Fun perhaps for kids but I don't know. You don't do anything.

I may actually still have Sneak and Peek for the 2600.

Given the thread title, I thought it was about the quest to actually find/buy a Wii.
