Finally saw the trailer last night.
Not much content to speak of. But, the game is still a year away from release.
The music was familar and nice, with some new changes.
I thought the graphics were nice and the scattered video transmission parts were nice to watch.
Overall, I thought it was a good trailer.

I enjoyed the teaser but i'm also a sucker for the Halo storyline. I'm anxiously awaiting the next three novels (having already read the first trilogy) as well as the Halo graphic novel. I'm just hoping we see something like the ilovebees ARG for Halo 3.

Maybe they will take a break between Halo's to start a new IP, like id does with Quake and Doom?

Marathon was a Mac game, it was the Mac's version of Doom. Although it actually had a story. It was an extremely popular Mac series.
It's always possible they could go back to any series, but Bungie's history says don't bet on it.

Any chance we'd see an update of Combat Evolved and Halo 2 that would be included with this game.
In essence making all three into one big game?
Four-player co-op over XBOX Live through the entire H A L O saga.

I wish they would just release a multi-player LIVE disc for now...I could live without the campaign for a year, I just want some new maps to play on. If it's gonna be that long, give us some new H2 maps!!!! How hard can it be?? As for the trailer, I thought it was pretty cool.

I thought the trailer was extremely light on gameplay details. But the music and the effects were superb and really got me excited.
My problem: The big, playable Halo 2 demo debuted at E3 in 2003. The game came out 18 months later. This trailer was only CG (although I have no doubt it's in-game quality)... I don't see a Halo 2-level quality game coming out before 2008 unless Bungie is keeping their cards close to their chest.

Glad they worked on a trailer that really demoed nothing about the game, instead of spending some time fixing the cheating and stuff going on with H2.
I think they are really dicking their fans around saying this will be the final game of the Halo series. I'm sick of these guys just trying to do more than Halo... Just stick to the one thing you do best and shut up and make Halo games. Cut this Live Arcade crap and supprt your fanbase.

Pretty mediocre teaser. I know its a teaser but they could have shown us more than this vague space crap. I really hope they add something to the gameplay though. Halo 2 was a good game but it felt like Halo 1.5.

Wasn't too impressed with the trailer, just Master Chief walking up to a ledge and looking over. Sure the graphics were great, but I want to see footage of the actual gameplay, the video does nothing to get me excited about playing Halo 3, and/or what new elements they will bring out for the 360.

I thought the general consensus was they will release the same engine for the 360 with a graphics/HD overhaul. And that they would finish the major cliffhanger of 2 relatively easily.
I'll go on record and say this comes out early 2007, January. Maybe they'll push it to Fall 2007 but I don't see why. They should have really pushed it out this season to counteract the PS3.

Bill Gates wanted to put it out same day and date as the PS3, but Bungie told him to shove it. They're mad at him for forcing them to release Halo 2 before it was ready, so I almost think they're going to take extra time on this one just to get his goat.

Wow, I really think we need to stop using the term, "Trailer" for this HALO 3 deal. To me it was more of a tease and teasers, by their very nature, don't show everything. It wasn't meant to show you anything more than what it did. I love how everyone is writing it off when all they've seen is a short teaser.

Last one in this story arc, maybe, but last of the franchise? No chance in hell.

Q: Is this the last ever Halo game?
A: It is the conclusion to this story arc.

Like msdmoney said, it was master chief walking up to and looking over a cliff. Ooooh, let me get my hands on that game NOW!

This Halo 3 teaser is way more subtle. Not much to see. But I have to admit, the more I watch it, the more I'm digging it! It's Cortana's lines that does it. "I have defied gods and demons." "I am your shield. I am your sword." "I know you. Your past. Your future." "This is the way the world ends." The last one just kills me. BRING IT ON!!

"I won't." <-- Classic Master Chief - Cortana moment right there. I remember thinkin', my gawd, fighting the Covenant on our soil and saving the human race, this is gonna be soo badass!
