New Sam and Max episodic game on Gametap
http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3story.html?sid=6149491
GameTap has just issued a press release saying it will debut a new Sam & Max game at E3. Co-produced by GameTap and TellTale Games, the new Sam & Max games will be released later this year in episodic format. It will mark the first time the duo have appeared in a game for more than a decade.
Little else is known about the game, other than that it will be shown off in video form when E3 starts on Wednesday. A GameTap subscription currently costs $9.95 per month.

Those bastards! I love Sam & Max, but I don't want to pay a monthly subscription to play one game. I know they offer more than one, but that's the only game I'm interested in. Damn it.

Worse case, someone strips the Gametap code and I send an anonymous check to Telltale games.

Joystiq reader Danno has pointed out that, according to the Sam & Max F.A.Q., gamers will not need a GameTap subscription (a correction we need to make for the better of society): in fact, the title will still be available as a download via TellTale's main page in the same manner in which Bone is currently offered.
The F.A.Q. further offers some tidbits about the voice acting (which is not being done by any Sam & Max veterans -- "Take a few minutes to stomp your feet and swear at us. We'll wait."), their decision to work with GameTap ("They're giving us the freedom to make the games Sam & Max deserve"), and their decision to work in 3D (series creator Steve Purcell's day job).
We're excited; the title is due out in the fall and a downloadable trailer is purported to hit the internet on Thursday -- be sure to check it out for some old-school adventure action.

Thanks for the update Pixy.
I'd offer some kind of reward, but you live so close you'd probably accept.

I think the best part about this annoucement is that it's coming out this Fall. The lack of info on this game had me thinking that we wouldn't see it until 2007.

Thanks for the clarification, Pixy. If I recall, that Bone game was PC only. If that's the case, I'll buy the Sam and Max game and download it on WhoGirl's PC.
