In an interview with CNN Money, Hirai said: "We felt that if you want to save something on your Memory Stick, most people have those readers on their PC, which is easily adaptable to the PlayStation 3 with a USB cord."
Uh, yeah... cause we all keep our PCs in our living room.

What he means is that as television technology progresses, the PS3 will be able to handle it. It's not going to become obsolete until Sony makes it obsolete with the PS4, is what he's trying to say.

They were aiming for a 10 year lifespan for the PS3 i think.

I hope so because it's going to take that long for it to drop in price enough for me to pick it up.
