Generally the "release date" means "shipping date". stores near the distributor can get it that day, most get it the next day.

90% of the time, the "release date" is the date they're shipped out. Stores on the east coast sometimes get these late in the evening on the day. All stores in the West Coast get them the next day.
Now, 10% of the time, a video game is street dated. This means that the publisher has set a specific date for the video game to come out everywhere in the country. In this case, the game comes in to the stores before that date. The stores hold the copies in the back and sell them on the street date. This is what EA does with Madden. We got the discs the Friday before the release and held them in the back at work.

Gamestop near me said they'll have it this afternoon. I'm picking it up after work. Can't wait to play it.

Picked this game up today and so far it's pretty damn good. I really like the fact that you can position yourself when fighting. I'm looking foward to fighting people on Live, that should be fun.

I just checked Future Shop's site and they have it at two locations close to me. So, if EB doesn't have it tomorrow, I'll pick it up there. I'm sure I'll have fun cancelling my EB pre-order, though.

Just a frustration

I'm really starting to like this game. It's like a mix between Final Fantasy (plot), Mega Man Battle Network (battle system) , and Pokemon (party members).
There's a huge variety of Golems to collect, you have the cute Pokemon looking ones, evil dark knights, and huge monsters.
