There was just nothing on the Xbox or PSP good enough to make us want to keep it around, that wasn't also on another system or the PC.
The 360 will have to do a hell of a lot in the next few years to get our money again. The Xbox just plain wasn't fun enough.

It depends on my finacial situation. If I can get reemployed soon I will by both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Otherwise just Playstation 3. No plans to get the Wii (comment removed).

I started with the PS/1 but really didn't play with it too much. I had a hard time getting a PS/2 and I thought the launch titles sucked, so I got a Xbox and fell in love with Halo. I've got a 360 and I am having a ball with it. I am still open to the PS/3, but being a High Def owner will definately not get a wii.

I don't really understand how you can "switch" since the system isn't even out yet. I think its pointless to have system loyalties, I just buy the system with the games I want to play on it, since I don't really play multi console games, I mostly go for the exlcusives like Zelda or Metal Gear Solid.

I can't really switch since I own all the systems this gen and owned both a PS1 and N64 last gen. I am definitely most partial to Nintendo, I just enjoy the Nintendo first party games the most, but it doesn't mean I won't buy all three.
My main focus will be price, I won't pay $400 and probably won't pay $300, especially since I have so many games still to play this gen. I will probably get a Wii first, especially if it launches at the speculated price. I will wait til the 360 drops in price and gets more exclusive games that aren't on the PC also. I buy FPS's for the PC, so I will be picking up Call of Duty 2, Condemned, Quake 4, and Oblivion for the computer. The PS3 will probably be last, just because I expect it to stay at a high price longer than the 360.

I'm defecting from Sony to the Revolution/Wii this generation.
Previously I had a PS1 and a PS2 on launch - mainly for the RPG support. But I'm not into this $400+ console B.S. Too rich for my blood. I've got too many good games backlogged anyway. My PS2 will keep me busy with RPGs for quite some time.
Xbox has too much focus on racing & FPS games, neither of which I care a lot for. FPS is OK but I've never really adapted to dual analog from keyboard/mouse. I'm sticking with my PC for the occasional FPS craving, mostly. I have about a dozen Xbox titles - mostly online fighting games...also Halo 2, Phantom Dust, Panzer Dragoon, KOTOR, Buffy, not a lot more.
I'm all over a $200ish Nintendo Wii to get me by for a few years. I'll buy the PS3 & Xbox360 in like 2009 or so, when the price drops from astronomical to sub-$200ish.

I've never been loyal to one brand for long. I owned a Genesis/Sega CD when most people seemed to be into the SNES and didn't get my own SNES until the end of its life. I owned a 3DO for years when no one else did. I prefered the PSone greatly to the N64 and ended up favoring the GameCube over the PS2 the last 5 years or so.
I'm going to go with the console that can provide games I like. The big problem for me is my dislike of FPS and racing games in general. This hurt my adoption of the Xbox and probably will hurt my adoption of an Xbox360.
Right now I'm leaning towards the Wii just because of the cost factor and the backwards compatibility of NES, SNES, Genesis, N64 and Turbografix.
I mentioned earlier that the $60 price points bugs me more than anything else. Its true you can find discounts to get games under $60, but I'm used to using the same discounts to get $50 games for $35. I don't see myself deciding on the PS3 or Xbox360 until they have a fairly solid library and some good games that have hit bargain status. That will obviously be a few years so for me its the Wii for awhile and only if Nintendo delivers some solid games for it.

Interesting to see so many Sony people considering spending their money on a different system based on a 'rumored' PS3 price. This is coming from a gaming group, imagine this on a larger scale with the general populace. I don't see mom & dad swallowing a $500 price tag either. Anyway...
Since we are on brand loyalty, I'm a Nintendo loyalist. I've owned every system(home or portable) other than the original GB and the DS. Yes I even bought a Virtual Boy(on clearance). Dreamcast, Xbox & 360 are the only other systems I've owned since the Atari years. Almost snagged a PS2 prior to my Xbox purchase but peer pressure and Xbox live won out.
I don't regret it at all though.

Hmm, technically I own all the major consoles, but at the moment I only have the ps2 handy.
Having just bought a HDTV it's definitely going to be hard holding off on a 360 for any length of time. Still I don't want to spend the money right now... maybe the 360 will end up in bargain bins and I can snap one up cheap

I've been partial to the Xbox systems. I already bought the 360 and will get the Wii next (at launch) and PS3 last. I love the 360 games. Love the graphics and the controller. Best thing is the Live setup and marketplace. They really have a grasp on the online aspect of gaming. I know PS3 will be launching their free service, but no one has seen it in action and no one was blown away by PS2 online gaming. Microsoft is definitely the leader in online gaming right now, but that could change if the PS3's service is really good, but I love how Live looks and feels.

Once more online fighters (SF2/MK, etc) come out on XLA, i will buy a 360 then. Till then i have 0 reason to switch. Im still insanely backlogged on ps2 RPG's as it is, and i hate FPS/Racing games, so there goes 99% of the xbox software lineup for me LOL. But yes, once they have the old school arcade brawlers out, im there.

I never owned a PS2 and stuck with the Gamecube during the last generation until i felt like i couldn't find any decent games for the Cube. Sold it, picked up an Xbox right before Halo 2 came out and didn't turn back. I adore my 360 with the Live in a way that actually might be illegal in my state.
That all being said I'm more excited for the Wii than i have been for any system since i was a kid. My wife is even excited for the system and she is a total non-gamer but has asked me questions about games announced for it (she wants a new Animal Crossing). I don't even like Madden but i'm drooling over the interview on IGN that talked about how they were doing the controls and my wife was even saying she might want to try to play it based upon the motions to control the game. She also claims she wants to buy stock in whatever company is making replacement controllers since she thinks when i try to throw bullet passes i will be chucking many a controller across the room. Maybe i can get a wrist strap like they have for surfboards.

I owned a PS1 and then a PS2, spanning quite a few years. These are Sony products.
I anticipated buying a PS3, also a Sony product, but delays and my own impatience to get started playing next gen games in high def caused me to "switch" to a different brand of gaming system, a Microsoft XBox 360.
I'm glad I did, (except for the lack of sleep I'm getting lately)...

I still play my PS2 from time to time and there are some games I'd like to get for it still. I had a roommate that was completely obsessed with my Gamecube so I let him have it after we all moved away, otherwise I thought it was a great system, and I'll definitely be getting wii at launch with any luck. The PS3 will have to wait till the initial rush dies down a bit on it for me to pick it up. I'm not going to go through any hassle to get one, although I will pick on up within 6 months or so of launch. This is the first time I can say that I'm truly excited about all the consoles coming out.
I got the PS2 at launch in the last round, and picked up an Xbox and a Gamecube within a year after their respective launches. I loved them all but I had to give the edge to my Xbox it got tons of play.

There was only a handful of great exclusives for each of the 3 systems last gen and I generally only buy AAA games and I'm still picky about those. So it's a must to own all 3 systems for me this gen as well.

I plan on owning all three. If it's come down to a budget or availability issue, I will get the Wii first.
I wanted to own a Gamecube but there weren't too many titles I was rabid about.

I also forgot to mention, that i will prolly have a 360 soon (but no retail boxed games to go with it LOL), and a PS3 hopefully at launch. DEAD LAST is a Wii, if i see one at the swapmeet or something, i might get one then, but ive owned nearly every gaming system released (neo geo carts & 3d0 FTW), so i like to try them all, i just know where my priorities are.

If I was a single-system guy I could not fathom going from Playstation to Xbox unless my primary interests were FPS, sports and mediocre movie/comic book tie-in games. Sony just has too much of a broader scope of games to play and that'll probably go into the PS3 as well. The Xbox selection is direly narrow in terms of genre representation and Microsoft's promise of widening that on the 360 has gone mostly unfulfilled thus far.

IMO. And that $400 is already too high.
