it wont respond at all my other Xbox controller works tho so i know its not the Xbox or a specific game the controller just wont respond to anything any suggestions on what i can do?

There's no magic switch you can flip that's going to make it work - you just need to go buy another one.

Have you tried using a Reparo spell?

If it is an original controller, don't forget Reducio after that.

Is this the wireless controller for the 360? If so, have you tried swapping out the battery packs between the two controllers to see if it affects the performance of either one...might just be a bad battery pack, or a bad connection.
