Problem resetting XBOX 360 display settings.

According to the MS support site here I can reset my 360 display settings, although it just doesn't do it for me.
I have a TV that only supports 480P but I accidently pressed 720P in the dashboard and now I can't see anything. Would the instructions be any different considering I have an Australian PAL unit?

I don't know about the Australian PAL version, but the USA version has a switch on the HD cable that forces it to only output standard definition; perhaps there's something similar that you can employ.

the reset works as soon as you power on the system by the power button on the console, push and hold y and the trigger down at the same time and hold them down until the system restarts itself.

power button

y and trigger holding holding holding

system restarts

it takes about 3 to 5 seconds for it to reset

now if you really can't get the time right for reset you can always grab the vga adapter plug it into your computer monitor and do it that way, hell if you've got a good computer monitor i'd run it that way anyway since 480p is barf when the games are native in 720p.

also like fab said plug it in using the yellow video and reset that way

I'm using it in the mean time through the VGA plug on my TV and that's fine. I'll wait a couple of weeks till I get a projector and then I'll fix the settings.
Thanks for the help guys.
