I haven't seen this posted in the thread yet:
I got a letter today from the Xbox Service Contract Department regarding warranty expiration notice. I know the card that comes with the Xbox sells 2 years of warranty, but the letter I received today gives me the choice to buy 1, 2, or 3 years. There's no deal/discount for buying more years, its $29.95 per year no matter what. The letter also states that I must reply by April 28, 2006, so I'm guessing that's when my original warranty expires. I'm guessing I received this letter because I when I had problems with my Xbox360 when I opened it on Christmas, I called customer service and gave them my name, address, phone#, and xbox360 serial number.
This is just a heads up for anyone wanting to buy the MS warranty. I've read here that you can call to purchase the warranty, but I'm not sure if they give you the option for 3 years like this letter does.

Marketplace hits 10 million transactions
Xbox Live's download center reaches major milestone; new content on horizon includes new PGR3 cars, Uno, Poker.
Microsoft today announced that Xbox Live Marketplace, the Xbox 360's digital download center, has broken the 10 million download mark. Marketplace, which offers content that ranges from picture packs for gamers' avatars to demos of retail games, has been accessed by 85 percent of broadband-connected Xbox 360s, according to the company.
The tech giant also revealed that more content for Xbox Live is on the way. The company confirmed that new achievements and automobiles will be available for Project Gotham Racing 3, new multiplayer maps are headed to Perfect Dark Zero, and an online cooperative mode for Kameo: Elements of Power will be ready soon. The company did not say whether said downloads would be free or, as is more likely, come at a price.
This spring, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will also get its first download for in-game use with the Horse Armor Pack. As its name implies, the pack will outfit gamers' mounts with armor, not only protecting them from attacks, but also making them look a bit more menacing. No price was mentioned for the pack.
Two more Xbox Live Arcade games have been confirmed for spring. In addition to the much-anticipated Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, gamers will be able to download Uno and Texas Hold 'Em Poker. Uno will be based on the classic card game by Mattel, and Poker, from developer Riverbelle, will be a free download.

MS should release one free game every couple of months. It can only help them.
This sounds great.

Interesting, more achivements for some games.
I tought the arcade games were locked at 200 points, and full titles at 1000 points? If that is the case, how are they going to add achivements? Unless they found a way to patch code to allow for more on the live servers, or they make the achivements have no point value.

I thought, surely it's the demo, so I click it and it mentions nothing of the demo, no cost... free. Well I'll be damned. Offering one for free every now and again would be sweet.
Forward to going to play the game... demo.

Been waiting for a poker game to play online. That'll be fun. I've been wanting to play with different people. Now if only there were a way to transfer MS points.
I'm sure that would go over well with parents and MS. Online gambling.
I wonder if they'll ever get Galaga out on XBox Live Arcade? That would rock.

by the way, my initial impressions of Astropop.
Great little game! Highly addictive and challenging. Definitely worth the download. I plan to have a full review up on the site by Friday.

Does anyone think that now, 5 months in, this might be the best lineup of games for any console ever (compared at a similar timeline?
I mean at this point, it has... what? Thirty, forty games? (counting XBLA)
I don't know if I completely agree, but it seems to be the case.
