For example, the individual businesses are fun to extort the first time, but they cut and pasted identical businesses around the city in order to fill up the map. So you extort the same baker 6-8 times, the same hotel 6-8 times, etc. It gets very repetitive.

I would have to agree that the graphics are not very good in The Godfather. I found a picture that compares the car models of The Godfather to Mafia.

Mafia is 4 years older, but it still has better graphics than The Godfather.
Mafia though is a PC game while The Godfather is designed for consoles, so that is probably part of the reason Mafia looks better.

I can't understand the comparisons to Mafia. I got that game for $5 and played it once...it was so terrible that I threw it away, rather than trying to sell it.

Did you play the PC version of Mafia or the console version? The PC version is the original, and the console versions are extremely crappy ports. Almost everyone highly rates the PC version. Mafia got the same treatment as Far Cry, meaning a drastically altered and dumbed down port to the consoles. I have never actually played the console version of Mafia, but I have read this on several different game sites like Gamespot and IGN. I do own and love the PC Mafia game though. It is definitely in my top 10 favorite games of all time.

I'm playing (renting) it for the Wii. It's a lot of fun. I know that graphics probably don't compare to the 360, but it's a lot of fun beating the crap out of people with the Wii-mote.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I just started playing through this on the 360 and I'm really digging it. Yes it's GTA, but structured better so you don't end up wandering around aimlessly and eventually forget to get back to the main story. That's always been my problem with the GTA games. I get lost and start screwing around and doing my own thing and then I never bother going back to the actual game.
