The Official DVDTalk XBOX Live Gaming Schedule

With the blessing of L&O I've decided to start the XBox Live Gaming Calendar. I think this will be a good way to get people who may not normally play with the regulars here to get in on the action and make new XBL friends, also this will ensure that on the given nights there will be people to play with.

The Schedule as it stands is as follows.......

Sunday: FFA
Monday: COD2
Tuesday: COD2
Wednesday: Arcade Night (Street Fighter 2)
Thursday: Burnout Revenge
Friday: Halo2/COD2
Saturday: Burnout Revenge

Start Times are 7-8 P.M. EST to whenever people stop playing.

XBL Gamertag list by Golucky http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=425666

Use the gamertag list to send friend invites if people don't have their gamertags in their sigs. Make sure to let people know that you are from DVDtalk when sending friend request.

If anyone has suggestions for Open nights or would like to change Canis's FFA nights post it here, also we can discuss the prior nights events here and that sort of thing. As a game lacks in popularity and new games come along I will change this list accordingly, so let me know when you all think a certain night is no longer necessary for a specific game and we will replace it with more popular title. If there is a title that everyone thinks we don't get to play enough maybe we can even dedicate a second night to it.

Also if anyone has Ideas for events and things that we could have that would be cool.

Last Edit* As was indicated by a few Arcade titles are released on Wednesdays currently Street Fighter 2 is available for download and will be the official Arcade title till something beats it (hopefully soon I'm not a SF2 guy ;) )

Canis Firebrand 03-13-06 12:13 PM

Or just use the FFA or open night for those popular games. ;)

kakihara1 03-13-06 12:14 PM

That's true, I can't seem to get enough of Burnout Revenge right now but it will be cool to really get into GRAW for the first time tonight :D

UncleGramps 03-13-06 12:26 PM

Cool, this has its own thread now. Good idea, Martin. :)

Looking forward to GRAW tonight. Right now I'd lean towards Burnout for every FFA night, but that might change depending on what GRAW multiplayer is like. I also feel like I should play Full Auto at least a little, if enough other people are up for it. Otherwise I'm thinking of finishing FA's single player mode and trading it in. Poor Full Auto...I think it's doomed now that Burnout's here.

Gromit 03-13-06 12:32 PM

I may join in on the GRAW fun tonight. Good idea!

I barely use my Live account. Maybe between GRAW and Burnout I can fix that.

I thought about that for Full Auto, if you or anyone else has a suggestion for what night it should be then I'm all for it. Yeah Burnout kicks its ass all over the place but Full Auto is still a ton of fun with friends.

Hey Kaki - would you mind putting in estimated times for playing and specify the timezone?

Canis Firebrand 03-13-06 12:35 PM

It seems the most people are on between 8pm-11pm EST on weeknights(sun - thursday). Sometimes a bit earlier, or sometimes a bit later.

Friday can go later and usually does. Saturdays are spotty with people playing throughout the day and night. Just depends on how many people are on and in what games.

From my observation, anyways.

See and that's the reason for making the thread, you should definitely start playing with us we always have a blast and if we get a room full then someone can just start a new one DVDTalk will just take over the live servers every night ;)

Canis is spot on. If we Eastern guys start off the night around 7-8 then the west coast guys can stop playing whenever they feel like it, I won't be able to hang too late though :)

BeanDip0001 03-13-06 12:39 PM

i think tues should start out fullauto night and go to burnout after a couple hours

BigDave 03-13-06 01:05 PM

Starting next week, every night is going to be an Oblivion night. ;)

I hope we have a good group for DOA4 this week.

Canis Firebrand 03-13-06 01:10 PM

We should. It just happened that last wednesday both Burnout and GRAW came out, so everyone was trying out the new games.
I can't see Oblivion taking over Wednesday, since its a single player game. Sure, some will check it out, but once people start loading up DOA, they should switch to that.
Hopefully, anyways.

kakihara1 03-13-06 01:18 PM

I agree everyday will be Oblivion day for me as well but I'm still going to switch to play on live with you guys whenever I see people start logging on. I'm really gonna milk this version Of ES.

BigDave 03-13-06 01:31 PM

That's true. It may be a good idea to take a break from Oblivion from time to time.

tenaciousdave 03-13-06 04:07 PM

Sadly, GRAW Night is Monday and I'm all about watching 24 on Monday nights.

The Bus 03-13-06 04:18 PM

Yeah, and GRAW is the most 24-ish game out right now, too.

flashburn 03-13-06 04:21 PM

I say we switch Monday and Tuesday around. Due to the above 24 conflict. :)

Also, I am going to try and get on for DOA4 on Wednesday, and of course Burnout on Thursday.

Canis Firebrand 03-13-06 04:31 PM

No.. Tuesday will not work for me, as I have work that night. Thats why I left tuesday as an open night.

Keep monday as the official GRAW night with tuesday being open to whatever people play.
Besides, who watches tv live anymore? Thats what vcrs and tivo/dvrs are for. ;)

The Dude 03-13-06 04:34 PM

Count me in for GRAW night definitely; I may have to pick up Burnout based on the board's reaction as well.

goLUCKY 03-13-06 04:42 PM

I'll still be on GRAW tonight!

Oh, I don't watch tv live, but I still need to watch it the night it airs. Or else, my coworkers will ruin it for me!

Supermallet 03-14-06 02:46 AM

I'll join in on GRAW, DOA, and Halo 2 when I can. It just depends on whether or not I'm closing the store on those nights.

kakihara1 03-14-06 06:33 AM

GRAW was a ton of fun last night! There are still a few commands that I don't have down and some of the controls seem a bit clunky but otherwise great game a good times last night. We had a full room the entire time I was on at least.

Tonight is a FFA night so I'm thinking of getting my Burnout Revenge Fix :D

I would have joined you guys last night, but my internet connection was down (damn Comcast, it's a regular thing with them).

There are a few GRAW players over at the TiVo Community forums too. Maybe we can set up a DVDTalk vs. TC GRAW battle? :)
