I'm tempted to sell mine at this point, but I'm holding out to find out if they work with the Revolution.

Nintendo Customer Service # 1-800-255-3700 I did have to pay sales tax though (in IL). So, my total was $36 and change. |
Is there any limit to how many you can order by phone?
|
I tried to order one extra for my Brother but the lady I spoke with said they were limiting purchases to one cable per customer.

Thanks for the ordering info! I have also been putting this off for a long time.
With tax and delivery it worked out to 48.25 CAD, not bad really. Ian |
I really hope that these cables work with Revolution also. Knowing Nintendo, I'd be surprised if they don't.
|
The SNES, N64, and GC all use the same multi-out, they are interchangeable, just an FYI.
|
The component cables are different from the a/v port used on the SNES, N64, and GC. Your GC must have a digital a/v out on the back or you won't be able to use these cables. I don't know when they stopped making Cubes w/o the port but all newer GC's don't have the digital a/v out port on the back.
Also, from my understanding the Revolution will not have this same port making these cables exclusive to older Cubes. |
Nintendo's been great about keeping the multi-A/V out on their last three systems, but their handling of the digital out and component cables on the Gamecube leaves some doubt in my mind as to whether the Revolution will be able to use the component cables.
I know that Nintendo's not too big on HD for the Revolution, but I would think that it would at least support progressive scan, making some sort of component cables necessary, I believe. It would be a shame if the Gamecube component cables only worked on the Gamecube. . . |
Wow...looks like I found this thread just in time! I also put off buying these until just now, but I was able to place an order by phone this morning. Thanks for the heads-up, guys!

Has anyone had luck ordering these lately? I just bought my HDTV and am looking to upgrade everything to component connections.
|
Not suggesting this for anybody else, but my solution to get component input is through an upconverting A/V receiver. So, it will either be inputted via component or HDMI on the HDTV. I am still waiting for my receiver to test this out...

wow i just looked on ebay, people are paying over $150 for these? are these people f'ing insane?????? I can buy a Gamecube for less than $50. good thing no one took me up on my above offer lol.
|
That is pretty ridiculous considering the Wii will no doubt support progressive scan.
|
$150?!? Glad I was able to get a cable while Nintendo was still selling them, however, I am really hoping it will work on the Wii, but unless there is a digital audio port hiding somewhere on the Wii case I am probably out of luck.
