Connect360 syncs Mac with Xbox 360

You can then use the Xbox 360 Dashboard to browse and play your media, organized in the exact same way that it is on your Mac." Connect360 keeps the Xbox up to date as content is added or removed from the iTunes library, and the application supports MP3 audio files alongside JPEG photos. A built-in access control list can limit which Xbox 360s can connect to a Mac, and the software supports wireless connections as well as the Xbox's built-in network port. Connect360 requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, and is priced at $10.

For those of you with an XBox 360 and a Mac, I thought you might be interested in this little program.

Sweet! thanks. I'll have to give this a shot later. I was feeling left out.

Nice! I do wish there was a way to stream video of course. I'm going to miss that functionality that I currently have from my Mac to my modded Xbox and XBMC.

I couldn't get this to work for me.

I made sure that the firewall was off on my Mac Mini that holds all of my music/videos and can't get past the screen on the 360 where it tells you to install the software.

The "Next - A button" option is not available to me.

I've restarted both system and computer a few times, and nothing yet.

Anyone else have any luck with it like advertised?

I wonder if that option will be available later.

When is someone going to get around the WindowsMCE requirement to stream video to the 360?

cool, good to see a better option exists (there was a web based unix port out there but it was hard to use). I only wish it didn't use the iPhoto library for pics. I refuse to use iPhoto until it doesn't need to keep copies of all my pics in some messed up file structure.

I didn't have to install anything on my 360. I think I went down the same path as you though, but I got it working.

Installed on my iMac. Opened up the ports via system settings -> Sharing -> Firewall.

I then started my 360 and got a little confused until I realized that you don't have to do any of the 'connect to a media center' stuff. Just go to music or photos in your media section and start browsing. My iMac showed up and I was able to navigate through to pictures and music.

The music list wasn't my whole library though but I think it only shows mp3 files, no aac.

I'm not sure, but this might be easier to setup than it is to link a 360 to Windows Media Center PC, but I bet it doesn't have nearly as many features.

I've never really been interested in this sort of thing, but for only $10 I'll probably register it just for occasional use.

THANK YOU!

It worked.

I finally remembered that one of my favorite programmers did the visualization that you see during music playback, Jeff Minter.

I will gladly pay the 10 bucks for this software.

The limitation is on the 360-end. So either:
(A) someone will create a patch or tweak to WINDOWS MEDIA CONNECT to fool the 360 into thinking it is WMCE

(B) Microsoft will provide a fix

(C) someone will figure a way to patch the 360 itself for this support

I think (A) is the most likely.
