They better announce DQ9 as well... I want to see that running on a Wii.

WOW! I absolutely hated the Card system, but I may still get this if it is remarkably different or expanded. Would rather it be the same story with the KH2 combat system.

I didn't mind the card system, it wasn't perfect but they could've done worse trying to cram as much stuff as you could do in that game and still keep it an action game with the limited number of buttons available on the GBA. BUT.. I think that's just it, it worked in accordance with those limitations, I don't see a reason to keep it when they're putting the game on a fully capable system with a gajillion buttons.

I'd gladly buy if it ditches the card system. I recently sold my GBA version which I had because I was a completist. I tried to play it one more time and it was just as awful as I remembered it, so I couldn't justify keeping it anymore.

I think the image we saw in Famitsu last week pretty much dashes any hopes for abandoning the card system.

Okay then, one less game for me to buy. Stupid of them to keep the card system. I can see the excuse for it on the GBA (we've only got four buttons!), but on the PS2, that is inexcusable.

Agreed. It's going to have to be a huge improvement over the GBA game for me. I only got about half-way through Baten Kaitos because the card system was way over my head for what I wanted to invest. I do admit I have a stronger tie to KH, so if there's something to be gained by it, I'll force myself through it.

I don't think it's fair to compare Chain of Memories to Banten Kaitos. Yes, they both use cards but that's where the similarities end.. and end in a big, bad way. BK had to be the slowest paced RPG I've ever played in my life. The horror, the horror.

I think the point is, if I wanted to play something card-based, I would go buy some Magic: The Gathering starter packs. It's a subgenre of video games that I actively loathe.

Yeah, but the card system was way difficult to manage. Too much time spent failing at a battle just to have to try again after rearranging the primary elements you used. Horrible.

COM's was nowhere near as complicated, but it still was annoying and will be even moreso on the PS2 I imagine.

Well then there's a good chance it won't be coming to the US anyway so I won't need to make decision.

Well since I wasn't able to get a Wii for the thanksgiving weekend I've been playing older games and managed to finally finish this game after buying it at launch! And I thought Breakfast with Girls was the only one who beat old rpgs long after everyone else did . I was fairly close to the end, just had about 2 hours left. I thought the last battle was really cool, especially how
Spoiler:
Riku and Sora fight together against Xemnas, not to mention the reaction commands make it very cinematic.
I don't have the time to get all the stuff for the secret ending so I found it online.
Spoiler:
But it was totally weird, reminded me of Power Rangers or something, it almost killed my interest in the sequel for this game. But maybe thats also because I was expeting something like the first KH secret ending, which was AMAZING and got me so pumped for the sequel despite me knowing that it would be years until it came out.
. Other than that I'm looking forward to KH3. I agree with the suggestion that having a Pixar themed world would be a nice touch. And maybe a Square-Enix world instead of just having FF characters in it. Any news about KH3 or Final Mix?

Hey Outlaw, don't forget about some of the Disney tv show worlds. Gargoyles, Ducktales, Gooftroop, Talespin, and maybe Darkwing Duck would all kick ass: either as worlds or cameos/summons. Plus Disney owns the Muppets now, so how awesome would Muppets centric section be? Muppet Babies even? Ok, let me stop dreaming.

This has nothing to do with the game, but I am just amazed that I was just able to sell my copy of KH2 on eBay for $36.00! The game has been out for a zillion years, and it only went down $14.00 in value. That is maybe the most incredible resale value for a non-rare (not DK, but scarce) game I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

There are obviously a lot of people who still wish to play this game who've yet to get in on the fun. I can only imagine the game will get a whole new audience once it hits that greatest hits zone.

Nearly 2 year bump

I bought the greatest hits version of this game on friday. Have been playing since yesterday and I love this game! I nearly when i saw the title after playing for 3 hours 49 minutes (That has to be the longest intro for a videogame) Anyways, I have some questions:

What is the maximum level? Can I beat the game without capping the experience level?

And the most important question of all: Will there be a Kingdom Hearts 3 for ps3? Please say yes

How cool would it be if they made a Wall-E world!

99, I think and absolutely. Maxing levels is really only going to be useful for the side quests, like Hades Challenge (or whatever the nightmare tournament was).

There will be a 3, I'm sure. Don't be surprised if it hits the Wii or goes multi-plat with the PS3 and 360. There are 2 other KH games in the works, one for the DS and one for, I think, the PSP or Cell phone. I can't remember which.

We've been hoping for a Pixar world for a while now. I think Toy Story or Incredibles would work better as a single entry than Wall-E.
