Should I buy an XBOX 360?
I know where I can get one at normal price and I can get $150 for my old XBOX and put it toward that. Is it worth it? I enjoy playing College baseball and other games I can't play on the 360 yet and I'm wondering when more games will come out for the 360. Or should I wait for a PS3?

Is there any game you really want to play on it right now? Also do you have a HDTV and a broadband internet connection. I bought a 360 on day one and have been very happy with it and I would recommend it if there is something you want to play on it right now. If there are no current games that interest you then you might want to wait cause for the next few months there wont be too many games coming out. As for the PS3 I wouldnt worry about waiting for it until they actually give us a release date and an accurate list of launch titles.

If you've got an HDTV, then I would say absolutely. Both Call of Duty and Condemned absolutely blow away current gen stuff in my opinion. There's also some garbage out there, and again IMHO if you like sports games only NBA and NHL 2k6 are great right now. But Fight Night 3 and College Hoops 2k6 are coming out in a few weeks. I was playing my original XBox quite a bit, but when I ditched it I didn't miss it at all.

Do you post on TexAgs (dave99ag over there)? I saw that exact post this morning.
I love the 360, but that's with a HDTV and it being networked to my computer. I would wait until there are games out that you'd like to play. I only have Kameo and DOA4, but those are keeping me busy until Oblivion comes out.

For me, the XBox Live Arcade games are worth it for me. That is what I'm spending 80% of my time using the 360 for.
Plus, now that I linked my computer hard drives to the XBox 360, I can hear all of my MP3z on my home stereo, which is so much better than my computer stereo. You can also show all of your photos from your hard drive, while you play MP3z.
So, it is a pretty cool convergence piece of equipment and a sign of what the future holds!

The $150 is with several games too. Not just the console. I'm still thinking about it.

One thing to consider is, are there any games for the XBox that you cannot absolutely live without, that are NOT backwards compatible with the 360?

Yes, get it now.....
I really like mine. I guess if you REALLYwant to play XBOX games, I wouldn't, since I consider BC to be pointless (except for Halo 2, that seems to emulate good).

Definitely get it. As mentioned previously, it's almost worth it just for the xbox live marketplace (I've played like 300 games of Billiards and now I'm going crazy with Marble Madness). If you can hook it up to a big HDTV with a kick ass surround system, it almost becomes a no-brainer IMO.

How many games are on the 360 that you want to play right now?
If there are a handful, then buy it now.
If not, hold off for more games to come out then you can see what the PS3 has to offer as well as they should be showing more and more in the coming months.

Also, don't forget the Nintendo Revolution. The Gamecube actually has a decent offering of sports games, and theirs usually includes extras the other systems don't have. NBA Street, Vol. 3 had a mode where you could play with Mario characters, and Fight Night Round 2 had Mike Tyson's Super Punch Out included on it.

But the gamecube controller made for a difficult time playing sports games designed for the more traditional PS2/Xbox layouts (not to mention the ridiculous memory issues the GCN had), and I can only see that being more difficult with the Revolution controller.
How are you going to get 150 for the Xbox? Is that with games?
At this point, unless there are games that are either out or coming soon that you really, really want (like Oblivion), there's no harm in waiting. The initial hype of gotta-get-one-now has kind of died down, and games are just trickling out. Although I enjoy quite a few of the launch titles, none of them are system sellers, IMHO. And if you either don't have HD or broadband, an Xbox360 makes even less sense.
Even with baseball games coming out soon, from the sports lineup the 360 has boasted already, it probably won't be nearly as polished as the last generation of games. I'd at least wait until those games come out so you can see how they are.

The 360 will definitely get all the big sports games so if that's your criteria then go for it. I suspect the online functionality will also be superior on 360 compared to ps3, at least initially.

If it has the games you want and you can't wait then get it. That said, there is a rumored 360 pricedrop happening this spring. But is there really a point in spending $700 right now on a brand newsystem to play Geometry Wars? Might be better to keep your old x-box for the time being and see what happens when the PS3 and Nintendo Revolution come out. I'd wait personally, but its your cash.
