the summoning, pc game early 90's, isometric view rpg like diablo but with a good story and great special weapons and unique magic casting

Moonstone (Amiga) was one of my favorites. It was an action game in which up to four players played knights and battled a slew of monsters as well as each other in order to win the game. This game was *very* gory for the time. Nothing like decapitating your friend and looting his body.

I also have fond memories of Project: Firestart on the C64, which was probably one of the first survival horror games.

Archon was great. That made it to the NES? I had no idea.

Commodore 64:
Spleunker
Castle Wolfenstein - not the FPS series

N64
Izzy's Wreckin' Balls - Highly addictive multiplayer game

Pieces -- SNES
This jigsaw puzzle was an addictive break from Super Metroid. I haven't played it in years, but the music is stuck in my head.

IQ, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and Tail of the Sun. All PS1.

And Pipe Dreams for the NES. A cool, but underdeveloped game.

Tail of the Sun is awesome in it's weirdness.

hahah! Yes! I thought I was the only one who played Flying Warriors. Interesting fighting system/rpg sidescrolling game. Music was the best part.

They made a sequel for the SNES called Ultimate Fighter or something I think.

Kojima's Snatcher. I don't know a single person other than myself that has played it since it was only released on the Sega CD in English, but its one of the best games I ever played. Still my all time favorite and I've played it through dozens of times. Excellent mix of point and click adventure and light gun shooter. Awesome Blade Runner like storyline as well.

I've been looking for Loaded on the PS1. It was a pretty mindless top-down shooter with cool music.

It was a greatest hits title and so is the sequel, I think.

I liked conflict for the PC. No graphics, you were isreal and you had to build your army to attack and defend.

Mine would be Twinsen's Odyssey for the PC and its sequel. A couple of truly bizarre games made by the French I believe.

Yeah, but getting tough to find in the stores. I'm not a fan of ebay, so that's out. Not to mention, it's fairly low on my priority list, so

Pac Mania

It's its own cartridge on the NES, but it's also part of the Pac Man collection on the GBA. It's probably other places as well so maybe it not so obscure.

But it's definitely my favorite variation of the Pac Man games and no one seems to know what I'm talking about when I mention it.

One of my favorites as well. I also played through Veil of Darkness, which was similar in feel (made by same developer I'm sure), but was a little more "horror movie-ish". Didn't like that one as much as The Summoning though.

Magical Drop 2 + 3, and Super Fire Pro Wrestling.

I bought a NeoGeo Color just to have a portable Magical Drop. Hoping it'll be released on the DS eventually someday, cause the GBC one is really bad.

Played Super Fire since I was in jr.highschool and finally managed to track one down for the S.Famicom again. Too lazy to go afford a SNES to play with it at the moment though.

I loved this game! It was great promoting civil disorder in other countries and taking over Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. Egypt was always a bitch to fight though and I almost always ended up in long draw-out wars of attrition with them.

Gunships rocked!

I always wished there was a whole world version of Conflict.

Great game!

Off the top of my head:

Um Jammer Lammy (PS1)
Space Channel 5 part 2 (PS2) - and you just gotta love the Michael Jackson cameo
Night Trap (Sega CD 32X)
Double Switch (Sega CD)
Ground Zero Texas (Sega CD)
Snatcher (Sega CD)

The real Super Mario Bros. 2, not the US version, though I liked that as well. Supposedly it became 'the lost level's' in super mario all-stars.

As for somewhat obscure I will go for Devil Dice (psx). My vote goes for monkey Island 1 because its a name that may be know but im not sure that many people have played through it.

Hogs of war for the PS1. It may not be that obscure, but it certainly is one of my favorite games of all time that I rarely hear people talkinga bout.
