I downloaded the Age of Empires 3 demo because I'm thinking about buying it but for some reason I can't play it. The download is complete but when I click on the desktop icon to launch, a red error occurs with no words or anything.

anybody else have this problem?

I have a Dell Dimension 5100, XP, 512 RAM, Pentium 4 HT, 2.8 Ghz, GeForce 6800 256 mb (I think I should be able to run it).

2 Gig RAM

I still want to buy it but I hope the actual retail game doesn't do this. Makes me wonder.

i downloaded it from fileplanet and it worked, the one that didnt work i downloaded from download.com

I had several issues when I installed the original demo, but when I bought the full retail it installed flawlessly the 1st time.

You could try agecommunity.com and post you error message in the tech forum it is the official game site.

I might do that.
