Does anyone else find the GameCube's pad to be severly uncomfortable?

I love the cube controller, mainly because of the wavebird. The only issues I have with it is the z button and I would have liked both analog sticks to be like the left hand stick. I always liked the z button on the N64 controller.

Couple of things to add:
As I said I like the controller but take issue with the Dpad and the Z button but game designers are very good and only putting secondary/tertiary function on them. I like the springyness of the Xbox S controller buttons better though. The A button works great but just feels a little mushy. I like the analog stick but in my opinion I actually thought the 64 stick was more accurate. I think it is because it was much taller and not as "mushy". Of course they felt like crap afterawhile because they did not last very long and just lost their tension.
I didn't see the big problem with the Dreamcast controllers. The biggest issue I had was the placement of the cord at the bottom.

Big fan of the Wavebird and GC controllers in general.
The PS2 and XBox controllers are just way to unfamiliar/uncomfortable th few times I've played those systems.

This was really apparent to me after playing Tales of Symphonia and then going back to one of my PS2 Tales games.. I really missed the Gamecube controller!
Xbox 360 is probably the best version of the "standard" layout though, it really is great. I have no interest in a 360 (and probably never will) but I've wanted to buy one of the controllers for my PC ever since I held one. I don't have an issue with the PS2 controller other than the analog sticks are shit and left stick is in a horrible position considering it's the primary control function. My vote for worst is the Dreamcast standard controller. What a vile piece of work that was. The analog stick was worse than the PS/PS2 one, the D-Pad had sharp edges which cut into your finger with prolonged play and the shape of the controller was horribly uncomfortable.

Agree 100%The differently-shaped buttons are very easy to find in the dark. The layout of the Y button over the big A button makes it easy to hit the A button with the joint of your thumb, and the Y button with the tip of it. I'm not so keen on the smaller B button, but it's alright.
The Z trigger sucks ass though, and the D-pad is waaaay to small.
As far as ergonomics, I find the shape of the GC controller way better than any other controller. The Wavebird is my favorite controller ever, second, perhaps, being the curvy Sega Saturn 6-button controller. GC controllers are comfy to hold and easy to use. Different - yes, it has some learning curve. Better? Yes.
I agree on the sucktastic Dreamcast controller. Bad shape, and the cord coming out of the bottom of it was a dumb idea too.
