GBA Micro Question
Would like to have an all black unit, but they way they are sold (black unit w/silver faceplate and vice versa), it is impossible unless you can get a black faceplate from eBay. My question is, do you need to have the faceplate on the unit? How does it look without it? I was thinking of buying the black unit and not putting on the silver faceplate.

Also, you can check Nintendo's online store.. they probably sell the faceplates there. I can't confirm since I'm at work but they've always carried various replacement parts for all Gameboy systems. I had to get a new battery back and screen for my original GBA and it was only a few buck for both.

Faceplates
These are replacements for the original screen covers that were included with your system.
NOTE: In order to protect the LCD display, always keep a faceplate attached to your Game Boy micro.
$4.95 and the black one is available... not sure of shipping cost

Yeah, I wanted one of the other faceplates and ordered it from Nintendo. They sold out of the ammonite, camo, lady bug and flame plates though and haven't restocked them. Only downside is shipping is $2 plus you have to pay tax. Ordering from Nintendo works better for big orders. I just ordered Electroplankton from them and tossed in a Famicom face plate and a couple of other accessories while I was at it to even out the shipping.

It looks a gameboy crossed T-2 when the faceplate is off.
That why I got the silver one with the black faceplate.
If someone wants my lady bug one, I'll sell it to them cheap.
I saw some third party faceplates somewhere, can't remember the store though.

Yeah, EB has the cheap third party ones. Got my famicom one today and stuck it on my black micro. Looks okay other than the silver L, R, select and start buttons next to the gold.
I'll probably use it for awhile and switch to something else.

Thanks for all the advice. Picked up a black and famicom faceplate from NOA store as well as 5 two-disc GC cases. Never knew all that stuff was available there.
