I miss arcades

Seeing Baby Pac Man reminds me of a pacman game i played once that was part video game (on a monitor set high and eye level) and then a pinball field. It combined video games with my true joy in the arcade... pinball.
Another game i really enjoyed when i was in junior high was something called Time Soldiers? (Time Warriors maybe?) where you had the stick that spun in a circle to aim your gun and you traveled throughout time picking up these characters with special attacks. An archer who could shoot an air straight or lob one high to get enemies on cliffs. There was a girl with a boomerang that would reflect off walls etc. It was done in the style of Heavy Barrel.

I used to hit up arcades every now and again. The fun thing for me now is to play racing or golf games in bars when I'm half in the bag. There was one night I was playing a racing game at a bar with some friends and I was not doing very well. Needless to say I wasn't driving home that night

OK, here's my story (and I'm 40, so my era was Space Invaders, Pac Man, Asteroids, etc.)...
Growing up in New York City, specifically Manhattan, we had some great arcades in Time Square and Penn Station that we used to go to. Fascination, Playland, Station Breaks (one of the best) were where we'd take our $5 and play to our hearts content, or when we ran out of money! Even in high school, Nino's Pizza used to always get new machines - ah, the days of playing a game with one hand and eating a slice of pizza with the other!
I miss the arcades as well - an old friend of mine was in town and we went to Dave & Busters and just played the older games. It was almost like old times.
BTW, I have MAME and most of the arcade collections for my PS2, so I can still get in a game of GORF or Phoenix when I want!

i miss being in japan playing 10 yen table top machines. Time Warriors were a favorite of mine as well. I also played a lot of the NES Goonies on the play choice 10 machines
