I like racing games but not sure which game is better. PGR3 is 10 dollars cheaper

I was kinda curious myself. I'm more of an arcade racer myself. Burnout rules all racing games. The super realistic GT type games are a snore.

PGR3 has received better reviews from just about every source, but it's pretty close. I've heard better things about PGR3 from normal gamers as well, but I haven't played either one:
Project Gotham Racing 3
Need For Speed Most Wanted
I've heard fantastic things about the in-cockpit view in PGR3. I think I might go buy the game today since I have that $10/off coupon for Best Buy.
Both games look great though, and both have received great reviews. For the personally, the fact that PGR3 is $10 cheaper is the clincher.

I got both, I swear NFS looks better than PGR. PGR just lacks something but I'm in the minority with that. NFS is better if you wanna race against friends, its easier to pick up and play. PGR hasn't changed really so it was kind of a dissapointment for me gameplay wise. The most entertaining aspect of NFS is definately the chases more than the races though.

I think if I had to do it again, I would buy NFS. That I believe is more win races to open up more cars and race, with cops thrown in for some events.
PGR is win races for more races and money. Pretty much all cars are available to begin with (in career mode) but some (many?) races depend on your ability to drift and spin around as much as they do for driving. Any car can be used in any event (online is the exception).
I really enjoyed the Gran Turismo series where specific events were for certain cars, you could "soup up" the cars and make them faster/better.

Does PGR have any unique features like the rewind thing on NFS or is it a straight sim racer. If so, I'd go with NFS. The demo was fun and the rewind feature added a little sumsum.

Can't edit my previous post for some reason. I didn't mean the rewind feature- I meant the slomo feature. The rewind thing was from whatever that game was called on the OXM demo disc.

I much prefer NFS, and the slomo thing is perfect for taking sharp turns, because it slows down time and the speed of your car, so instead of braking, you just hit that, and have time to aim.

I have both and I like both games. They both do different things, though. PGR3 is better if you want a more realistic and competitive racing game. NFS:MW is better if you want street racing, car customizing and police chasing game.
The framerate in NFS:MW stutters and gets choppy in spots, and the cars slide around unrealisticly, especially in slo-mo.....but those are the only issues I have with it.
Both are fun games.

I also have both games and I have to say, I have been loving NFS.Right now I'm 3rd on the Black list and the cop chases at this point are ruthless. I have been busted many times where in Hot Pursuit for Original XBOX, your luck if you ever got busted. If I'm in free ride mode I actually hate getting spotted by the cops now because it's so damn hard to get rid of the cops. Story mode is great like some one else stated and very well done IMO. This is a must buy to me where PGR3 has been too much of a bore. Graphics are great but so are the ones in NFS. Plus, it's a whole city you can go check out whenever you want. It's more or less a racing RPG. GREAT GAME, GO BUY IT.

I really like both. But as others have said, if you like simulation racing go with PGR 3, if you like more arcade style racing go with NFS:MW.
