games are now just saying reading, then it says disc read error. Dead Ps2 or easy fix at all. They are really bumbing out.

Try calling Sony. They had a recent settlement about this issue and may fix your PS2 for free or at a discount. There are also a few online guides for adjusting the laser that can give you a temporary fix. I would definitely try calling Sony first before opening up the console.

try standing up the console on it's side, it may help with the disc read problems.
