I would say that I find the wavebird and the 360 controllers tied.

I turn Rumble off for every game i play since it might be the stupidest video game enhancement ever. 360 controller gets points for the on/off switch and the Wavebird for its superior design. Overall i'd say it's a tie.

Yeah, in my mind, the rumble feature defines "take it or leave it." I don't mind it when I am playing games, but I don't miss it when it's not there.

Since you can shutout rumble in most (all?) games I'm not sure if not having the rumble in WaveBird would be an advantage. Also consider that all Nintendo games have rumble in them, so leaving it off completely wasn't to make the controller better it was to conserve on energy. The rumble on the 360 controller isn't that strong either, it's very mild and you only notice it's there when it actually has something to do with gameplay. Today I was playing COD 2 and coming under fire, for some reason I didn't notice really but the controller rumbled a little and I knew I had to get out of there.

I don't care who makes the game (Nintendo, EA, Bungie, etc.) or what the intent was of having the controller "shake" in my hand. It doesn't add anything to the game play in my opinion, other than to make me wish the controller wasn't vibrating. It's stupid.

That's why you can disable it in games thus practically nullifying the wavebird advantage in this respect. The button layout is an opinion, but I never did like that stupid Z button whereas the 4 button layout of the 360 + the shoulder buttons harkens back to the SNES controller with the triggers from the N64 controller = best of both worlds.

I meant that the lack of the rumble feature was an advantage for the wavebird. I don't use it for comparison because I turn it off. For me, the button layout of the Wavebird is better on the WB, but the On/Off switch is a nice touch on the 360 controller, which in my opinion, makes them both even, tied (again in my opinion) for best controller ever.

There are things I would change about both controllers button layouts if I could. I hate the Z button with the heat of 1000 suns, but you basically never use it, so its not the end of the world. If you had to rely on that button all the time I would have a different opinion I'm sure. For the 360 controller, the white and black buttons are too close together for my fingers, so that sometimes I hit both of them, or the wrong one. Takes some getting used too.

But other than that, they are both awesome.

The 360 controller doesn't have black and white buttons.

Sorry, I meant the X and Y buttons, you're right. My main complaint is that they are a little too close together for me, and they "feel" the same. Same, shape, etc. I find myself losing track of where my hand is. Its probably because it is too new, however, and I need to get used to it.

The only thing I don't like about the 360 controller is the placement of the start and back buttons. It's a problem I've had with the original Xbox controller, as well. They're too small and poorly placed.

I like the 360 controller but the triggers don't feel as nice as the XBox S controller to me. It's like they don't have enough play in them. The replacement black and white buttons are nice but again they don't click down far enough for my tastes. Nitpicks but otherwise an awesome controller. The Wavebird is nice too but the C stick being so tiny sucks.

$39 for the controller, if you spend $50 you get free shipping.

Well, just ordered 3. Thanx for the heads up. I don't think you can get it for a lower price than this.
