I order one of the Turbo bundles they had and it said it would ship in 24hours but now changed to back order....so maybe those bundle aren't in stock. Be warn. I email them because calling them and getting a CSR is near impossible. I'll post any updates once I get a response.

Checked Target this morning and asked the two girlys that work in Electronics if they'd gotten in any 360's. They both looked at each other with a kinda weird look and said no. I asked them what was with the look... they said that they'd actually gotten 4 of them last night but they were sold to employees.

Was kinda pissed, but, oh well...

Wish maybe they'd sold 2 of them to employees and 2 to actual customers --- might've had a chance of getting one....

The scary thing is that's how he came off as saying, like the store wasn't interested in selling them. He probably snagged the last one for himself.

I'd be on the phone with Target corporate and complaining.

gmal2003 12-13-05 06:26 PM

Ive had my whole family on 360 hunt for me. My mom called the Costco in MI on Middlebelt and they had 100 or so yesterday and went fast. Im not camping out for BB Saturday (I work on Sunday mornings, its too cold anyway, and Id rather wait til Feb. than camp out now) but Im gonna have my sister stop by about 30 min before opening and try to snag it for me. I might quit my job or fake sick while at work if she calls me and says she got one ;).

What time does Best Buy open this Sunday?

These stores have to be alienating customers by allowing their employees to do this.

GameStop

I purchased one of the Steel Bundles this afternoon - fooled by the "usually ships within 24 hours" tag on the page.

After ordering - and going to the confirmation page - everything was set to ship within 24 hours except one minor item --- the XBOX 360 itself. It was listed as "back ordered".

Rather than let my $1000 sit in their bank account - I called to verify - and they did say that they would likely be shipped in time for Christmas. I cancelled and will play Best Buy Roulette this Sunday.

only if other employees rat them out. which happened in this case... :)

Brody- They don't charge your card until they ship, so your money is safe.

As people who've read all of this thread know by now, I ordered the $1K bundle on Thursday morning. It was listed as "usually ships in 24 hours" from Fri until this morning about 9 am when it went to "processing." It's been that way ever since. I'm getting a little impatiant since they originally said it would ship on the 12th.

I figure if this goes through, great. I'm still looking though and if I find another one I'll jump on it and cancel the GameStop order.

BTW: WebMon went off while I was typing this. It's set to check Amazon and other sites every minute. Amazon had a bundle in stock, I clicked on the link, added it to my cart w/o looking at what it contained and got a message that they were sold out. That was QUICK!

I went to my local Wal-Mart today and they had six of the $399 XBox 360s. I didn't get one because now I don't have the money. If they had come in a couple of weeks ago, I would have picked one up. I can wait until all of the hype goes away to purchase one.

why??????? why can't that happen to me?????????????

Cardiff Giant11 12-13-05 09:03 PM

Went to Target in Newington, CT and no 360s but they did have 3 of the Hard Drives so I picked one up for my brother. I also went to Circuit City to pick up a DVD and they didn't have the 360 but they did have a few of the Hard Drives. So if anyone in the area is looking for the HDD, check out those spots.

Daryl 12-13-05 09:37 PM

CompUSA has hard drives for in-store pickup only. You can check the website for availability at stores near you (2 of 6 stores near me had them in)

No such luck for me. I wish I could fall into something like that.

You will notify us when/if it ships right?

Duh, because you don't live in Port Charles, NY ;)

I assume you live in Chicago? That's a pretty big market compared to Port Charles I'd imagine.

I haven't even checked most of the stores near me. We have a Super Wal-Mart (the only one in LA county) and 3 regular Wal-Mart's in a 10 mile radius, along with a Best Buy, Circuit City, 3 Gamestop's, an EB, a K-Mart, a Sam's Club, a Costco, and 2 Targets.

svrasputin 12-14-05 02:31 AM

I'm an electronics manager at Target, and so far we got in 14 at launch, 4 the next morning, and 4 on December 12...to be honest, all were sold to employees except 8 of the launch shipment, that's how I got one...I have a feeling it's going to be hard for anyone to get one in a retail outlet...

argh923 12-14-05 04:19 AM

That makes me angry just to read that.

Fortunately, I know quite a few people that have gotten them since launch in a retail store, so I'm not too worried. I'll either get one at Target/Circuit City sometime this week, or I'll have one @ BB on 12/18.

John Sinnott 12-14-05 05:54 AM

My bundle finally shipped late last night from Gamestop. I should have it today according to UPS!:banana::banana:

The hard part will be waiting till Xmas to open the thing up. (A present for the kids.)

Mowork 12-14-05 06:45 AM

FINALLY!!! Was able to pick up a premium at my Walmart in Ellicott City, Maryland about fifteen minutes ago. Guy said they'd gotten 2 in last night and had 1 left this morning.

I'm pretty psyched that I don't have to do the Best Buy thing this weekend.....

edstein 12-14-05 06:53 AM

Is everyone getting premiums at these stores lately? And, do the premiums still contain the remote? I heard that was a limited time deal.

So, on launch day when 99% of the stores that got them specifically stated no employee purchases, your store let 6 of them go to employees? And as all customers searching high and low for systems since launch, your store gets 8 and none of those go to customers? Nice

And I can bet most of those systems ended up on Ebay.. Nice way that a store and/or manager screws over people actually looking for a system. Instead, employees snag the systems before any customers have a chance and make a quick buck.

Some probably were kept by the employees, but from what I've heard of other employees after the initial launch snagging some as stock comes in. They were all abuzz about ebay.

 incase you didn't note the sarcasm...

Guess who said this in another thread.

Employees holding items for themselves until they get off of work is called "understocking." Most retail establishments have a policy against this sort of thing. Most companies want to make sure that the consumers at least get a shot at getting deals such as sale or clearance items first

MrPink 12-14-05 07:21 AM

Villa Park Target is supposed to have some today.
