Nice work on the comparisons, maxfisher! I'm kinda suprised at some of the games that that didn't get any votes here, like Yoshi's Island, Metal Gear Solid 2, and NiGHTS.

I think the problem is there are many games that just didn't make it into people's top ten lists but might have made it into the top 20, so some great games just didn't get mentioned. Eventually they probably would have been mentioned but our sampling just isn't big enough.

The list did make me go out and re-buy Starcraft to start playing that again. Bloody awesome game. Too bad Master of Orion 2 doesn't run in XP - i have heard great things but have never gotten to play it.

If it still doesn't work, people have reported that it works perfectly if you disable DirectDraw acceleration in dxdiag. |
I don't even have the game. I had looked online and it appeared to not work on XP so i never looked at picking it up. If this patch works out then i'll have to see if i can find a copy somewhere.

A dark post-apacolyptic RPG where you can shoot mutant dogs and decide to fire your gun in bursts or not. I liked how the game referenced certain paragraphs of text in the manual that you had to read instead of cramming it on-screen with that crappy font. |

Remember that Choose Your Own Adventure book that you had to cheat to get the good ending? It was a UFO book and the ending where you made it to paradise was in the book but nothing lead to it, you had to cheat. |
