Nintendo DS/GBASP2 screen comparison?

Greetings!

Did a search, but nothing on this particular subject.
I had a GBASP,then upgraded to the true backlit screen model (graphite)
Huge difference! the colors were so much more bright and vibrant!
Now,I just got a DS (love Pinball and Metroid) had to get Metroid prime Pinball.
Great game.

Then I tried out a few GBA games on the DS. Metroid zero mission was the best example, out of the games I own-just for the great opening/colors/backgrounds.

Besides the DS's black border around the GBA games, making the viewing area smaller,to my eyes the colors are much more "washed out" on the DS.
I think games look MUCH better on the new GBASP2-colors are much more vibrant!

This is NOT to put down one system or the other.(I'm keeping both)

I was just curious if any one else had a chance to compare the two,or feel the same way that I do.Thoughts?

Thanx!
CHEERS!

The Micro and SP2 both have brighter screens than the DS.

It's hard to tell without direct comparison though.

Speculation is that a redesigned DS will incorporate the brighter screens at some point.

Thanx Pixy!
I wish I could provide some comparison pics, but don't have the means.
Anyone else able to do so?

I know they don't always show up well in the forums-in person would be better, but to me the difference is quite astounding!

If you do a search on Micro, there were some comparison shots from the DS->SP2 and the SP-SP2 in the big Micro/SP2 thread so most people are already aware of the difference. I remember seeing the initial SP->SP2 comparison and knew from that point I had to get one (even if it would have been the third SP I bought). Don't regret it at all and I'll be over-flowing with excitement when Final Fantasy IV Advance comes out next month.

A question to you Pixy: I have basicly begged my wife to get me a ds for Christmas/birthday. Do you think I should ask for the SP2 insted? It will be mighty cheap on Friday. I have a bunch of GBA games, but would like to get some of the great looking games for the DS.

I'd personally go with the DS just because their are some excellent DS games you'll miss out on if you opt for the SP2.

And the DS screen is very nice. Better than the SP1, but not as bright at SP2. I'd take the games over the slight screen improvement myself.

If I was only getting one I would get the DS. I believe Target will be selling DS units for $99.

However, I have all three and the micro has the brightest of them all with the SP2 second. The DS is pretty dim when you compare it, but I think that is to conserve battery life since its dual screen.

Yeah I agree. I like the DS screen a lot. It's bright enough, has great battery lasting time and you can play tons of great games.

I think I will continue begging for the DS then. Thank you.

When will Target be selling DS's for $99?

So far, I have seen this as an internet rumor.

I saw one blog at a site about it. Nothing else. With the Mario Kart bundle and the good games that are out for it this X-Mas, I really doubt it will be at $99.

Yeah, this is one I'm not sure is true. The Target online catalog clearly says $99, but it may be a misprice.
