Why would there be a specified date? They still make PS1 games for gods sake.

Seriously, didn't Microsoft say that there would be NO first party Xbox games after a certain date?

All I could find from google:

http://www.xboxmagonline.com/xbox/news/

"Microsoft also announced that 200 new games will ship in 2005 for its current generation Xbox, with hundreds more in 2006 and beyond. However, these games will come from third parties, and not Microsoft's in-house game developers: Microsoft will stop supporting the original Xbox with new titles after this year in order to focus on Xbox 360. Yeah, I think they will be supported through next year. I'm sure once the PS3 comes out, developers will probably stop producing them.

I know MS is done though....as stated above.

Conker was the last Microsoft release for the XBOX, IIRC. However, 3rd party games for the console are slated for release all throughout 2006.

I'd imagine any XBox game that comes out after the launch of the 360 would have to be backwards compatible. There are still some regular Xbox games coming out that I'd consider picking up...

I think just extra code has to be wrote for it (different processors...blah blah blah)....so, I'm not sure if it's the developers problem or MS problem.

The "XBox" still has a lot of life in it and there are plenty of great games out there to play. With the release of the 360 I'll be curious to see how the price of the XBox games stay or change? There are several that came out this year that I've held out on waiting to see if some price break comes about.

Making a new xbox game 360 compatible is just meant to be a case of using some libraries as provided by MS which I believe have been available for some time now.
