I cannot wait for GH2 for the 360!
|
I played the GH II Demo last night. Shout at the Devil, You Really Got Me, Strutter, YYZ were the playable songs. I thought the controls were a bit touchy, especially on the hammer ons in Shout at the Devil. Also, the timing on the strumming seemed a bit off. Or maybe I'm just so out of practice that I'm god-awful? I'm really looking forward to this one.

I don't know if I am the only one but ever since I bought Guitar Hero and played it I have been having alot of problems with my left arm. I mean severe pain from the shoulder down to numbness in my fingers. I am not 100% sure it is from Guitar Hero but after playing for a hour or so my left hand is always numb. Has anyone else had problems after using the guitar? I gave up trying to complete the hardest level a few months ago. My hand is STILL numb. I know the sequel is coming next month but I don't know if I should buy it or not! Any help?

All that fretboard work aggrevates my hand too, so I keep my playtimes to a minimum. |

I haven't been able to track down the demo yet, but if it's as bad as it sounds, then it looks like it may be another situation like the Frequency to Amplitude transition, where they improve a whole bunch of stuff yet decide to wreck a few of the things that worked fine in the original. I've had some mild hand soreness after attempting Cowboys From Hell a few times in a row, but nothing long-term, and certainly nothing that affects my whole arm. |
cant wait for it

so I wonder if I get to play Claypool's part in John the Fisherman, or if it'll be Ler's.
Oh, for those who may not have seen it - here's a review of a third party controller that we recently posted: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/games/read.php?ID=481 |
i REALLY hope the 'search and destroy' is the RHCP version, though it seems unlikely since they had a song on the first one as well..

Uhh.. yeah, that's not good. Are you tensing up your fret arm when you're playing or anything? Make sure that your wrist is as straight as possible and you're not holding it at any weird angles while you're playing. I hope it's not like the change between Frequency and Amplitude, because I didn't find it to be as fun. It was too forgiving, and it seemed a bit off (with regards to hit detection, and just the gameplay in general.) Don't get me wrong - I still really like it, but it's not as good as Frequency.

On the other hand, it really looks like they're making the solos a whole lot tougher this time out. On Expert, the solos in You Really Got Me and YYZ have some seriously rough parts. As much as I liked how HOPOs were implemented in the first GH, I imagine that if they didn't tweak them that some of these sections would be way too frustrating, even with the practice mode. |
I got the demo in the mail today with my new issue of OPM. I'll play it later tonight. :)

So, is there any point in me getting GH now, or should I wait for GH2? I kept waiting for a price drop and it still hasn't come.
BTW preorder GH2 at BB for $5 and you get a free GH2 concert t-shirt that actually looks to be pretty cool. It's available both in-store currently and online. http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US...tarhero_02.jpg BTW : The game with guitar is $79.99. Yikes. |

The setlist looks great, but I'm really hoping that one of the unannounced songs is by Tool. -pray- |

Just played the demo extensively. Love it already. They chose good showcasing songs for it.
Shout At The Devil is good for the basics. Pretty easy, even on Expert. You Really Got Me has really insane solo combos. Strutter brought in the three fret chords. It's really trippy playing it at first, but it's a good trippy. YYZ is just plain weird. You can tell where they'd add a second guitarrist. And it's good for HOPO's. Great for it. |
all of this news is making me even more anxious for some details on the 360 version ...

OK, I played the demo as well. It will not let me use my wireless guitar though :thmbsdwn: . It says it has to be a SG guitar. The real game hadn't better not be like this or I'm gonna be pissed. What could be in the SG that it would notice wasn't in the wireless? Did they really think that far ahead to include something in it to stop "unofficial" controllers?

To answer the title of the thread, yes, I am. But I don't think it'll catch on, which is a shame.

I'm gonna go out and try to look for the Nov issue of OPM today. I can't wait to play that bass line in YYZ.
