What type of game is city of heroes/villians?

I was interested in the game but know nothing about it. What type of game is it? Is it like world of warcraft? Is it more like fable ? Is it an action game? an rpg?

thanks

Even though ihave COH installed, i have never gotten around to opening an account and playing it. But, it should be similar to WOW since it is also an MMORPG.

It is like World of Warcraft. I played CoH while waiting for WoW to come out last year. It was ok, but there was a serious xp lag after lvl 10. Levels 1 -10 you just move right along, and then after that it's almost like hitting a brick wall. It just seems to take a lot longer to level after that point than it should. I also thought the missions got a bit repetitive, but it was still a fun game to play. I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to pick up CoV.
