Funny thing - I went to another Gamestop which got in 1 copy of the game, yet they had 8 copies of the strategy guide.

My local EB got 2 copies and both were to fill pre-orders.

I spent about an hour playing it on normal tonight and it is kind of easy. At no point was i ever really in any real danger. Several parts though had me laughing out loud - damn funny game if you like campy sort of humor and the whole zombie thing.

I will also add one thing for Fodder1976 - let whoever came up with the design for the loading screen know it was damn cool. Instead of a bar for loading the full color picture slowly necrofies, it is a pretty cool effect i thought. I do wish it was Live Aware though, i miss being able to get my Halo 2 invites and is something i think about before i put in a single player game. Sometimes i'll choose to not play a game if i think friends might be popping on Halo soon and they won't be able to kick me invites.

Yeah, the first two levels are super easy no matter what difficulty you have it on, but starting with the police station, if you have it on a difficulty of hard or better, it will start to put up a fight. I'd strongly encourage you to switch over to hard!!!

Thanks the the complement on the loading screens. We didn't know if the moaning zombies would be more annoying or funny.

Gamespot has just reviewed Stubbs. They gave the game a 7.8:

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/...se/review.html

The review sounded good without too many cons. The biggest con is that it only takes about 5 hours to beat the game. The review also mentioned a dance contest in the game. A zombified 1950s dance contest sounds really cool.

Maybe they played it in easy mode, and it'd be twice as long if they played one of the harder settings...

Hmm, as far as I know it did. I know its slated to, along with all other english speaking countries, and France. I'll ask around when people get in on Monday.

Couple of more reviews:

Team Xbox: 8.4
Xbox Advanced: 8.7

Yeah the game is a bit short on easy/normal. Not so, on hard and higher!

What's up with only a few of the songs from the soundtrack included in the game, if I remember right you had Wayne from the flaming lips doing press about the song and soundtrack and it isn't even included in the game Should have put a big sticker on the front of the game saying, if your a flaming lips fan don't buy the game expecting to hear 'em

PS - The game is alot of fun, so good job there

Hey!

Just finished the game last night on the Insane difficulty level. I LOVED the story and atmosphere. It did seem a bit short, but I was kinda rushing through because my girlfriend was hovering over me and wanting to go out for most of the time . The hand possession thing as incredibly well done and awesome, but I wish there were few more strategically placed sniper soldiers you could posess. I'm going to go through the game again to find all the pink hippo heads for commentary and use the posession to go at the levels different ways. Great game!!!

Yeah we tried to fit as many of the songs as we could. I know not all of the songs made it, but most are in there in one form or another. Even if its just playing out of a jukebox as you pass through a room or whatever. Its a difficult thing to find a fit for songs with lyrics in them. A large part of the comedy in the game comes from the 'barks' that the characters let out as you play though. The songs with lyrics and all just didn't mix well with all the voices in the game, so we had to use them sparingly.

I could have sword that 'If I Only Had a Brain' is one of the songs you hear in the dance off with Chief Masters, no?

Campfire - Glad you enjoyed it! Beating it on Insane = Stud!

Hey Chris!

I'm going through the game again on easy to find all the little hippo heads. It was cool hearing your commentary in front of the mall!!. I'm sure there's more, but that's as far as I've gone this time through. One question though, I noticed that when I'm in the middle of a level and save, and then I restart the game, it says that level isn't completed. The are you to chicken to finish the level thing. If I go through the game on easy (on the same profile as I had finished it on insane) and beat it, will the last level selection read unlocked level difficulty Insane like it does now, or will it change to easy?

Thanks!

It could have been playing in the dance off, I may just have missed it because of concentrating on the game, I assumed it wasn't in game because no credits for it listed in the manuel, maybe because it's public domain at this point???

Heh I didn't even know how many of those made it in, I've never heard any of them. Sorry you had to hear my monotone voice.

I just asked one of the programmers and he said the gamesave 'should' always show the highest level of difficulty you've completed it at. You could just try saving it in another spot to see what happens.

No actually, you are right. That song didn't make it in the game. It used to be in the dance off at one point, but we switched it out for a song better suited to cuttin' a rug to.

Sorry!

Is this game in any of the video stores yet? It seems like the ideal rental, but I can't find it at BBV or HV.

My TRU didn't have it either. Wonder why.
Has anyone seen it there? I really want it as part of the Buy2Get1 deal.

Yeah I had heard that some people couldn't find Stubbs at TRU, I was hoping that was just isolated incedent. Grrr.

I'm gonna stop by mine tonight, which actually as a decent selection. I'll keep an eye out for it.

I went earlier this week and got Makai Kingdom, Shadow of the Colossus and the new DDR. But I guess I should talk about that in the other thread.

They didn't have this at my TRU either. I settled for Tony Hawk as my free in B2G1F, but I'm keeping it sealed hoping I can find Stubbs at another TRU. I've been waiting too long for this one ; )
