The Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Thread!

This game comes out in a mere few days, anyone else excited about it? I haven't been this excited for a castlevania game since Symphony of the Night. The animation from the gameplay movies look great! I just replayed Aria of Sorrow (the prequel to this game) to get myself pumped up and up to speed on the story, I forgot how good that game was. But one thing I haven't been able to find are any preorder gifts, it seems like the type of game that would have one but are there any? Also has anyone found this in the store yet?

Can't wait. Pre-orded mine from ebgames.com with instore pick up. Hopefully it won't take too long, never tried that before. But figured it saved 1 trip to game stores that I hate visiting, but I wanted to be able to trade some games toward it to save my woeful budget.

I'm waiting for mine. I ordered a few months back on BestBuy's site when they had a special and got it for $24.99 with free shipping. Let's hope it comes before the end of next week with BestBuy's shipping record. lol

Can't wait to get my hands on this game either! Pre-ordered it from EB as well and going to happily trade in Madden(PSP) when I go pick it up tomorrow.

Any other deals out there? I want to wait a couple of days in case Fry's has it cheap, but I'm weak.

I really want this but i don't have a DS. Hopefully they will come out with a DS player for Gamecube or Revolution.

I think everyone's overly critical of this game's graphics. I was comparing the GBA to the DS version and they graphics are much sharper and detailed. The backgrounds are also much more full. A lot of heart went into this game.

Man I thought this day would never get here! Im so excited for ths game that I even pre-ordered the strat guide Well mostly because the guide is being made by Double Jump books, the publisher behind Hardcore Gamer Magazine, and I've seen their guides for Makai Kingdom, and Genji both were very impressive.

no stores near me had it on Tuesday, definitely going to go check a couple places today. I recently beat Aria of Sorrow, so I am really excited to pick this one up.

You got in on a deal like that and didn't share it with us. I'm dissapointed

Best Buy has it for $35 so $30 after the GGC

There was actually a post about this a while back when it happened (I believe in June). Picked up this and Metroid with it. I think I might be cancelling the Metroid preorder though.

I picked the game up for $30 at Gamestop today. Was pretty surprised it wasn't 35.

What? It's not 3D!? bad graphics! j/k

Nothings more refreshing than a beautifully animated 2D game

They didn't have it at Best Buy today, is $30 the standard price for this game this week at gamestop?

Picked it up.

Can't say enough about the graphics and sound - gorgeous all around. I'm very excited for what they'll be able to do in the next DS Castlevania now that they're used to the hardware. I don't even want to think about what could happen with a 2D PSP Castlevania.

As far as the gameplay goes, it's AoS with a fleshed-out soul system and touchscreen support. The touch parts are an embarrassment - the kind of half-baked, gimmicky crap that should never make it past the discussion stage - but the soul system has been expanded for the better and the second quest sounds terrific. If the level design and bosses are up to par, this looks to be the best of the "Metroidvanias."

ETA: Play this game with headphones at least once!

Picked it up today and I'm really liking it. I like getting more use with the souls this time around. Also make sure to have your Aria of Sorrow cart in the GBA slot when starting the game to get a rare ring when you start the game.

I'm still waiting for this to come out in Canada. It's street date is 10/7 but it's probably going to be here next Tuesday.

It's nice to see a great 2D game with some 3D flourish. Just call me old-school.

I a 2-D Castlevania for the PSP confirmed? If so, I may have to eat my words and buy one.
