Fable (PC) anyone else having problems?

For some reason no matter when I save my game, I'm always put back to my character's first arrival at the guild when I re-load. Granted, I haven't played very far into the game (only to when time moves forward and my char is a teen), but I don't want to get deep into the game and then save it and come back to find all my progress is gone.

I don't know if the PC version is different, but in the original Xbox version there were two different saves, a "Hero Save" and a "World Save." Hero saving would only save your stats, experience, money, etc. World saving would save where you are at in the game. You could only World save when you are not on a quest, and the whole childhood/Guild training thing counts as a quest. You cannot save your game until after completing the Guild training.

Ahhh, that could explain everything. I read about the two different saves, but I thought that the two periods in the guild would be different. I'll give it another try, this time getting out of the guild before I save. Thanks!

I had the same problem on the xbox that you are having; you basically have to finish the guild training before you can "world save".
